Looking at that map is weird because so much has already changed in that area. Yeah, I hear you on the selling portion. But I was more getting at the fact that they had already put that money into it and I could definitely see them being able to afford this. At this point, getting rid of it for whatever would be best for the balance sheet unless they decide to try to develop it later.I have a hard time seeing that land sell, by the way. The corner may sell but the rest of the land borders Canada Ave, and anything other than condos would be a tough sell. This map shows some of the original plan but it's really ugly and borders Sand Lake Rd, which is known for all kinds of traffic problems (that hasn't stopped other developers from building around it, but this particular spot doesn't seem as nice).
Where this coaster is going... is very tiny. Guessing that neighboring businesses will complain about this - he owns the garages but the Golden Corral, Tokyo Restaurant, Choice Hotels, [the world's largest] Checkers, and International Bazaar Shops may have other ideas about a noisy drop tower and coaster on that block.
The location is questionable at best for it for sure. Not just proximity but building in the small parking lot up front. Will be interesting to see how they work it all out with the neighbors.
At the end of the day, this still has a much, much higher chance at being built than the uber more expensive SkyPlex.
