That's exactly why I'd bet on this not happening.Wait, wasn't Mango's the same group trying to do the Poler-coaster a while back?
Odds are better with this one. A significant fraction of the cost of the previous project. The SkyPlex was a $500 million project lowered to $250 million in 2019. Then it went cold.I'll believe it when I see it-- until then it's all theoretical. This is the same company that was building the "Poler Coaster" on the opposite corner of I-Drive.
I have a hard time seeing that land sell, by the way. The corner may sell but the rest of the land borders Canada Ave, and anything other than condos would be a tough sell. This map shows some of the original plan but it's really ugly and borders Sand Lake Rd, which is known for all kinds of traffic problems (that hasn't stopped other developers from building around it, but this particular spot doesn't seem as nice). This may be the best bet as a replacement of that project. Still introducing some thrills across the street. The land the SkyPlex was planned for is still for sale and the price of that alone would be able to fund this project if the land sold.
