Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

I've been told that it's broken. I don't buy their story for a second.

Also, it's worth pointing out that the test seat is mysteriously missing...

In other news, it was down for a little while again today (not surprising, I know). It really has become a daily thing now.

Edit: Unagi beat me to it.

Now that you mention I did not see it at all today! I mean that area was crowded and all with Verbolten opening but the test seat was nowhere to be seen.

They did get it back up around 2. Must have broke back down again after that. I don't feel safe riding this ride bcuz of all it's problems. This is the only ride I don't like riding.

Actually you can argue, the problems are being caused by it running too well. From what knowledge I have gleaned, the safety systems of the ride are operating so well that if everything is not exactly perfect, (sensor and such) the ride will shut down. I feel quite safe on this ride if the safety systems are that sensitive.

I really wish they'd bring the music back. I don't really care for the shaking too much as it let you time the drop much better.

Ride was running smoothly when I was at the park all day today. I knew it went down once yesterday.

Ive watched it sit up top for a half hour before. I want no part of that.

With guests on it? I know they will sometimes have to send a mechanic up to the top of the ride to check on sensors and to do that they send the whole car up the tower.

I feel very bad for Busch due to the fact that this keeps happening, but regardless it may be another Moser prototype failure, but anyway I hope things will be better in the near future. I'm very sure Verbolten will distract some guests for awhile! So they can have that timeframe to diagnose and fix!

Is that the actual carriage shaking or is it just the panels above the seats? Whatever it is, it never looks right.

Some of the older S&S drop towers did that, I don't think it's dire. But if it's more than just a few clicks and a mild shake then yeah it could be something bigger...

Verbolten will draw more attention to it. Being fairly new and opening crazy late last year many park goers will be wanting to ride it. And if Verbolten shuts down people are gonna flock next door to Mach Tower.
