Mäch Tower was a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

Mach Tower was typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

On December 16, 2022 it was announced by the park that Mäch Tower would close on January 8th, 2023. The ride did not operate in it's typical Nächt Tower mode in 2022, in order to have final sendoffs in the normal drop tower mode.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

All prototype rides are prone to problems soon after they're running. No need to bash an entire company because of one ride.

Because Intamin, Premier, S&S, Arrow, Dinn Corporation, etc have had worse track records with their rides anyway ;)
You are right on the money. We had a lot of prototype rides like that at SFA. One ride was the Iron Eagle (Zamprella) and the other one was Skull Mountain (Intamin). The one adavange of by having prototype rides is, that the maintenance gets the learning experience by fixing the problems with the ride. The disadvantage is the ride is down and the GP won't want to ride it fearing that the ride will break down when they are ridding it and makes the park look bad because they spent so much money on something they have to repair all the time.

Okay, the weirdest thing just happened: I was watching LIVE TV and the Mach Tower commercial started playing. And it was the same as the old ones: "There's a new ride at Busch Gardens..." I guaruntee that it was playing. Can anyone vouch for me to prove it?

(Just and FYI, it was on whatver channel River Monsters is on)

I'm in Rchmond and I have seen this twice tonight too. I keep waiting to see if they would mention Verbolten, but no.

Yeah ..saw that too. I laughed because they are still advertising it as new and was at the park yesterday and as usual it was not running

Mach Tower was down all day today and I spoke with one of the ride operators and he said "it broke bad again". Said that they were hoping to get the part in the morning to fix it, but they wouldnt know anymore until then.

It's great to know that they're advertising a broken ride.

"Mach Tower: Heart Racing, Jaw Dropping, Never Working" (I might be paraphrasing a bit)

Mach Tower just has the worst issues :/
That's whats happen when you get a custom and non-tested model that has never run in another park. It brings a park all kinds of issues and one is downtime.

They went with Moser because they have a grudge against Intamin for the problems Roman Rapids, and Pompeii, right?

They were thinking like 13-year-old girls! (No offense to anyone here who is a 13-year-old girl.)

Rode it yesterday... seats dod not buzz... music did not play the entire time... the guy at the entrance said they are still trying to fix the fx

They should leave it "broken" in that case. It's probably better without the blaring audio and the "THE TOWER IS TOTALLY ABOUT TO FALL OVER" vibrating seats.

^ And what deal with snapping cables slicing people's feet off??

;)

Oh and for the record, Intamin rides aren't the most reliable rides either *cough* just about every single prototype Intamin coaster ever and a few more *cough*.

Mach Tower was down for a big portion of the day on Sunday. Opened up around 4, but the effects were off for the rest of the day. Seems like it's just plagued with problems.

And pending lawsuits from the parks themselves.
