RE: Mäch Tower

I wish bg would make a pov or partial pov... I hate having to wait until going to bg then waiting in line to ride it

RE: Mäch Tower

I have a feeling that the media for this ride will be like HoS, releasing snippets every so often. Something every two weeks sounds reasonable.

Saturday night in the middle of an at capacity park there was no line.

It was not spinning for part of yesterday....

Yes I was there on Sunday and Had Friends there on Saturday. I guess on Saturday it was spinning on occasion, and sometimes it would start spinning but then would randomly stop. On Sunday it never spun at all.. Just would go up and down..

By the way I was the one who posted on Facebook about them conserving energy lol

Does anyone happen to know how fast the drop is on mach tower? i was jw

Figure you do not hit terminal velocity. Figure the height of the tower and the deceleration begins over halfway up and how long it takes for it to hit the decel fins.

RE: Mäch Tower

Finally got on Mach Tower last night. I have to say it exceeded my expectations because of all the negative reviews I have been hearing.

I do have to say that the best part of the ride was the views. Which was fine for me. Call it an observation tower with a nice little thrilling ending.

It was spinning.

As for the drop, it was solid. It got the job done. Is it the biggest/tallest/greatest? No. However, I think it fits nicely at BGW.

RE: Mäch Tower

I loved the ride. What was so ironic is the fact that heights don't scare me, but I was terrified at the top. A great ride to start to really fill in the gaps in the park. It dawned on me when I rode it that the park is quickly approaching the threshold between a one and two day park, and it is VERY close to reaching that two day park.

RE: Mäch Tower

I finally got to ride MT today. Overall it was an ok ride at best. I really liked the rotation while ascending but the brakes grabbed too soon on the way down. Also, whatever that thing is called that lifts the carriage - they need to lower it faster after the ride drops. It could really help capacity.

RE: Mäch Tower

I rode Mach Tower the first time on Friday. MT is no thrill ride. But is a quality family attraction. It's a tight fit, but it is an enjoyable ride.

No it wouldn't. The amount of time it takes to load everyone and check their harnesses is longer than it takes for the pick-up mechanism to come back down. Even if everything goes perfectly smooth.

What would REALLY help capacity is having reasonable harnesses that allow for moderately overweight people/people with broad shoulders to actually ride the ride without us pushing them down to the point where people can't breath. It's absolutely ridiculous.

RE: Mäch Tower

^ I totally agree, those harnesses are a bit snug, even for people who just have broad shoulders. It's embarrasing to see people ousted from MT b/c of this, and have everyone in the queue watching it unfold.

BTW I love MT, I still get spooked before it drops.

I didn't see that issue during my visit. But this doesn't surprise me. This is a European company after all and they don't design the rides with "American" sizes in mind. B&M had this same issue for years before they started adding big boy seats. And Intamin is problematic for some on their various rides.
