really? ...bc bgw is going to open...a thrill ride...a drop tower...to the public that is not safe...:shocked: ...wow guys...think before typing...you do realize problems happen with new installs all the time right? and they have forever...the only reason you know anything now is bc technology has allowed this forum to exist and enthusiasts and park workers who are around said park all the time...someone is bound to hear something...stay off for a month and leave that open seat for someone who wants it...

Really? Obviously the park is going to deem it safe before they open it to the public. And no, the reason I know what I know about this ride is because I'm working on it, so therefore, they tell me stuff. Yes I know problems happen. And how did you get all of that from my post?! P.S. it was a last minute thought

i more than likely will be their opening day.i have 4 boys,at least 2 or 3 of them will be tall enough to ride it,and i won't be able to keep them off of it.going to bgw my whole life so i do trust them.:)thought they had to have 2 or 3 backup things incase of part failure but i quess not.

eh, I'm more than confident that BGW wouldn't operate the ride without it being safe. Personally though, I hate drop towers, and heights, and knowing that parts can break on them, I'm more than happy sitting this one out. They can tell me it is safe until they're blue in the face, but my irrational fears will keep me down there drinking beer and eating pretzels. ;-) Hopefully I'll get the cajones to ride it at some point. haha.

I'm more than confident that it'll be perfectly safe, but just knowing that Moser towers don't have the bumpers that you always find on Intamin towers is a bit worrying. They can fail. The good news is that if they do, it sounds like the worst that could happen is a ton of terrified riders, some bad press, and maybe a few broken legs. Hey, I'm trying to be positive here! :p

Would this be from the tower's brakes failing while descending from the top? If so I think there'd be more damage than broken legs.

No, I'm talking about the plates that bring the car to a complete stop (what failed during testing).

Who said the tower was being painted a light blue?! On mobile so it's too annoying to look back, but no. The entire tower is still "Griffon Blue"

Yeah.....it's not a light blue at all.

But they do have a very miserable worker standing out there answering questions and spitting out facts about how awesome the ride will be. They're "working very hard to get it open." So nothing unexpected about his response.

Cars are still off.

The entire tower was painted...perhaps the wet paint looked like a lighter shade every time is applied...

sorry...I pay people to do that...didnt know

and all of the times i've ever painted something small it goes on dark and dries lighter...I must be using sweet awesome shenanigans

No need to apologize. ;)

Now that you think about it: the most times I have painted things, the paint does go on darker than it does when its dried. Kinda odd, I guess it can work both ways.

I would think that when the paint was wet, the sun kinda appeared to lighten it up a little

I just want to know, What are your predictions on an opening date? I am going to guess the 1st week of July... the park said "weeks, not months" Thoughts?

Just thought of this... Could MT be opening on June 27? All of Germany/Oktoberfest are getting new costumes and the first day they wear them is June 27

Honestly at this point the only reason I want this thing to be open is so we can finally hear something about the 2012 coaster. Technically we're less than a year away from its opening date.....weird.

But yes. Open the god danged thing so I can hear about something that's actually exciting.
