RE: Mäch Tower

My no-where-near-expert-opinion is that those are just to control the restraints. Intamin drop towers look pretty similar.

Is it just me or do those seats look sorta... odd? Just the overall shape of them seems... different.

RE: Mäch Tower

I see what you're saying...but it could also be an indicator that the seats could tilt forward...they look like if the seats were to lean forward that you definitely would not fall out

RE: Mäch Tower

Those arent restraint hydraulics... What are those things called, actuators? Yeah, It's way too beefy for just controlling restraints, but I dont know if it would be able to lift , sustain and pull back the weight of any ol parkgoer in a seat...

EDIT: There's two for each seat, definitely not for restraints... But I wouldnt be able to tell you what they are for... they are oddly positioned.

RE: Mäch Tower

Well the seats kinda look...tiny. Like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey tiny. It could be so that the actuators wouldn't be trying to hold up a 300 pound man but rather limit it to about 200ish plus some "fluff" if you know what I mean...this things (this is coming from a speculative pov so correct me if im wrong) but IMO therapy do look like they'd have to be replaced every year

RE: Mäch Tower

I couldn't find a decent enough picture but I did find this:

http://www.moserrides.com/thrillrides/gravity-tivoli/gravitypark-technical.htm

Look at the passenger safety bars section...it says that the harnesses are locked and held by hydraulic cylinders. Looks like no tilting seats =(

No other standard Tivoli drop rides have this set up for controlling the restraints.

BGW has a new design.

I'm guessing that those white round things above the seats are speakers for the music?!

RE: Mäch Tower

All of Moser's Rides ( the maker for this one) look like ours

Ps this is also the "Gravity Tower" make for drop towers...

Pps unagi visit the link I posted and you'll see

Theme Park Review has closeup shots of the seats. There appears to be a hydraulic system above each seat and a hinge at the bottom. Perhaps the seats will tilt as rumored.

Interesting!

Not sure about the rumored tilt but something WILL definitely be happening with the seats with that hydraulic system!

After watching the Mach Tower commercial several times, I realized it mentions that once the riders reach the top it will start "shaking" and then drop. I hope it tilts forward also. That would make the ride that much better IMO.

RE: Mäch Tower

Those pistons don't really look like they're angled to point the chair down. They also look too big for locking chairs. Intriguing...

well the whole car looks like it is raised about a meter or two so the seats are fine, they probably just have it in a standby positioned programmed at that height.....

Whoosh...

[just in case: I was joking about the height. Ex: ;-) ]
