Hopefully they will be doing more construction on the tower I'm going to the park on Sunday and hope to see pictures, and maybe by next week when I work I can get even more pictures

I am so excited about Mach Tower. I guess the construction of a drop tower really doesn't take that long.

Just an FYI- Busch posted a video of them putting in the initial piece in on their facebook page. It isn't anything groundbreaking since we know from the pic in the link KDcoasterman gave us, but it's there.

By my estimation they still have two more tower pieces to install plus the top piece.

You are right...it's not yet completed...it still has more vertical to go plus the top piece

Thanks for the up close, Swift. You might want to start watermarking since other sites pull from here. It'll be interesting to see what is completed throughout the coming week.

From the picture I would guess that there should be at least one or two pieces before the top. But, that depends on how much extra height is added from the top. Also, does anybody know if they will have some really cool top? Possibly something with a German flag of some sort?

I don't know that flying a German flag that's visible from Route 60, Route 143, and Interstate 64 in the Historic Triangle would go over very well...

I'd imagine the only thing on the top will be an air traffic light.

Yeah, there would have to be an air traffic light on top, which would kill the whole maypole theme. "I didn't know they had big red lights on top of Bavarian maypoles..."

I wish Busch would have done what the Imagineers did with Tower of Terror; they limited the height of the building to 199 feet to not have to deal with the FCC rule to add an air traffic light to the top to keep the theme of the attraction in tact. I guess that's the difference between Busch and Disney, though.

Well the light could be either red or white (Cedar Point has white Air traffic lights on Millennium Force and TTD)

Well would you be happy for a 199ft tower when a MUCH taller one is just down the road?
