Did anyone notice in the brochure that it said Italy will have a new show? I for one am excited because when the italy show opened in 2009 I loved it, but in 2010 I didn't like it as much because they removed my favorite acts.

I saw that, I am suprised they didn't say anything about that at the announcment thing in Das Festhaus

RE: Mäch Tower

Did anyone else notice that (from the looks of it on the Mach Tower page) it looks like the new color scheme for Oktoberfest is going to be like light blue?

I have noticed that the buildings that will house the Beer Garden/Pretzel House show a strange shade of blue that also matches the Festhaus in the picture as well. I'm hoping that was just how the white walls of the Festhaus looked when in shadow and they are not planning on painting the Festhaus (and the rest of Oktoberfest) light blue.

I did. Now excuse me while I puke

The next page shows the Festhaus with the 'regular' color scheme, though. I hope to God they don't touch the Festhaus. That's sacred territory, that is! :(

RE: Mäch Tower

I think the new color is Blue/Light blue/tan... I did get a screen shot and posted on the busch facebook of the new Italy show.. It looks like a brass band has to do with it.. Wonder?

Take a peek at the hiring page for entertainment at the park. You will see a bunch of openings for brass players. My good guess is they will be the Italy show

RE: Mäch Tower

A new update coulped with a press release and video has been posted. https://www.buschgardensnews.com/page/bignews

RE: Mäch Tower

Yeah, it wasn't working for me either. Could be the release went up before it was supposed to.

RE: Mäch Tower

Was anyone else coming down I-64 this afternoon around 1:30'ish in the Williamsburg area? Well you would definatly know if you were.....There was a very, very, long tractor trailer , about the size of two trucks tied together hauling a long round steel tube...Just wondering if it was the tower to the Mach Tower!! It was not painted, just a long round steel tube, probally about 10ft. in diameter. Thing was HUGE!

RE: Mäch Tower

To anyone wondering the new colors for Oktoberfest 2011 here is the release. Quote,

Colorful ribbons, festive greenery and blue-and-white checkerboard patterns are all part of the Oktoberfest theme that will be seen throughout the village.

“Oktoberfest features a harmonious blend of tradition and modern heritage,” Gasparich said. “We’re putting our own twist on Germany’s traditional Oktoberfest celebration.”

Attentive guests will notice many village design elements feature colors from the German flag. The red, yellow and black have a traditional German feel while a colored maypole and festive banners depict Bavaria’s rich cultural heritage and add a finishing touch to the village ambiance.

RE: Mäch Tower

Thanks for posting, I had completely overlooked that. Anyway, the word "modern" shouldn't be in the vocabulary of someone working for Busch Gardens. I'm still getting that same uneasy feeling about the whole thing...

I doubt that was Mach Tower... The only reason is that the sections would be painted when they arrived at Busch... The only reason this would be false is if you saw the truck pull into Busch

RE: Mäch Tower

Unpainted part could be an "anchor piece" but Im not to sure about how these things are built, but it seems reasonable...

I'll agree with you this time but don't get used to it.;)

it would make sense for an anchor piece to unpainted as the above said. It would be underground out of sight. Why spend money on what will not be seen?
