RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Something I'm thinking is the ads you see right now for London Rocks aren't for the core cast but those who will be back ups and rotate into the show to give the main people their one day off a week.

There are a lot of legitimate businesses that use craigslist for performances, modeling, etc. Being that the park is currently seeking those positions, I really believe it is something they did.

It also helps to broaden your horizons when it comes to finding people. Not everyone knows about or has access to audition sites and the such and some people don't go company to company searching for a jobs website. Craigslist is an easy way to reach literally thousands of people who may or may not fit the bill.

They could find a diamond in the rough.

But the park used to be the preferred place to work for performers. The best singers and dancers in Virginia would compete for the limited, coveted spots.

And "diamond in the rough" is not desirable in this case. They need well-trained, seasoned professionals with excellent technique. The park is not a training ground, it is a job.

Actually, the park was always considered a step up to the big time, meaning they got a lot of the new comers in the entertainment business. If you got a job there, you were trained to perfection and then eventually went on to bigger things.

It'll be like being at a rock concert, and the lead singer takes their water bottle and flings water at the audience.

Oh boy, just what I've always dreamed of.

Prodigy confirmed for London Rocks!

The performers used to be students in well-respected theater programs, not untrained novices.

You do understand how long it takes to develop the technique to be able to perform in their shows?

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

It is still a place to start in the business and if you get the chance to perform in a room paid for by someone else, you better perform the best you can. Everyone has to start somewhere and this can be that lucky stepping stone, even if you are in the background.

Join us for the opening of Busch Gardens’ newest show, London Rocks™, will premiere at the park’s Globe Theatre on May 23, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

London Rocks is a musical journey that explores the roots of rock-n-roll and transforms Busch Gardens’ Globe Theatre into a rousing 25-minute live action and multi-media rock spectacular.

Did anyone consider that Busch has never really done "rock music genre" as a main spring/summer show? That they are having to use other sources than their normal contacts to drum up interest?

Most of their previous show musicians are more oriented to classical/folk music, with a dash of pop/contemporary music for shows like "Mix It Up" (Does"Entwined" use a live band?)

"London Rocks" sounds like it is going to be a mainstream rock oriented show, (not hard rock mind you). But, rock music that was played on radio stations in the '60's, '70's, and '80's.

Wait... they've been working on this show for four years and they're still looking for performers a month before it debuts?

.......

you've never worked in entertainment have you…..

What do you think?

I'm not an idiot. I know the basics of this stuff, and I do know that the park should have been more prepared on this front. Considering the amount of hype they're putting into this show, I fear they won't be completely ready in time for the debut. I do know that Kings Dominion has hired its performers for shows that start in June. I don't like bringing other parks into this all the time, but the fact that they have had their performers for months for a show that debuts later than LR ain't good.

Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds? Well, considering that song is supposedly about LSD, I'm sure they can do that very well!XP
