RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Y'all are missing an entire genre of amazing British music.  New Order, the Cure, the Smiths, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Electronic, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Erasure, Yaz,...

And, yes, I know that I have just included eveything from punk to synth pop, and that some of these bands started in the 70s...but it is all fantastic 80s alternative British music.

So, can we expect a certain someone to watch her first theme park show this year? :p

What, I wonder, is "British rock of today" that's theme-park friendly? If they're really sticking with the rock thing and not venturing (too far) into pop, they don't have a ton of crowd-pleasing options. Coldplay? Muse??

$10 that it'll either be "Bicycles" or "Under Pressure." BGW has so much music to draw from that they probably could change the show up with different songs every show, just like TiO. The issue is the larger your music selection is, the more money you drop on the rights to use them.

Being that we are talking about puppets in the show, I'm hoping for "I want to break free". The Bowie collaboration would be fine too, or "Fat Bottomed Girls" (ain't gonna happen).

With the theme, my guess would be "Somebody to Love". :)

My vote is "Under Pressure" as I could see some interesting imagery on sets and projections for that song. Besides, I love David Bowie and Queen... so it checks all the boxes for me.

I am with Nic though. The 80s was full of British synth pop bands. I have about every song from Depeche Mode, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and Yaz.

I'd guess all of those bands have a chance of being in the show too. Just a little 'less' chance because they weren't on the billboard charts and considered as popular. I like them too for the record. I have a few Depeche Mode albums.

I personally wouldn't expect good 80 alternative to be used in the show, honestly. Maybe some more mainstream New Wave stuff like Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls, or ABC, or something like that.

I really hope they include some Bowie in some capacity. "Heroes" is one of my all-time favorite tunes. I love British music, so that gives me some hope for the show, but I'm still not sold on the modern theme update.

You know what? The preview opened with UNDER PRESSURE from what I recall. I'd say there's a good chance that's what it will be.
