RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

CK,

There are those who might not consider the Sex Pistols family friendly....

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I didn't say that I am one of those people. But as I understand it, anarchism makes some people twitchy for some reason. Also excessive amounts of heroine. (I had Never Mind the Bollocks on cassette back in the day.)

Malcolm: Phoebe - how would you like to supervise our Sidney for a month or two?
Phoebe: No way.
Malcolm: Go on; you'd be a good influence on the boy. Why not?
Phoebe: Infectious hepatitis, loony girlfriend, drugs?
Malcolm: Boys will be boys.

Anarchy is already running rampant in the park. Especially in ENGLAND right now! You planning on hitting the needle at this thing? Some folks may find it necessary. I think the Ripper likes that. What about the Stones? Keith Richards alone...just wow!! Do I need to mention what The Beatles were into? :p
[/sarcasm]

Saw this on the BGW website...

It does say "live". I hope that is true. Want LIVE musicians.

^ Yes, it better have live musicians! If I wanted to hear people simply sing the Beatles and the Stones, I would listen to the radio. =P

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

KK did in fact have live musicians. Guitars, violin, flute, etc., you just couldn't hear them from the extremely loud backing tracks during a lot of songs. Then of course you got the rest of the SG Ga-Ga & Beyonce special songs which were pretty much all recordings. This is my fear. I want ALL live musicians playing ALL of the music here. Then I could be happy with this show. We shall see.

I'd like to hold out hope that this show might be worth seeing...but I really can't bring myself to that point, considering what we've seen recently from SG. Honestly, the video that showed the promotion was painful when it got to SG. In fact, my kids heard it on my laptop and came over to watch it with me. When it was over, nobody said anything except: "...oh...my....God...". My kids are 12 and 17. Hey, I like rock as much as the next guy (used to play in bands back in the day)...but I really don't want to see an 'Austin Powers' psychedelic England at BGW! Surely they can find some outstanding period-show for England that fits the theme and time-period that England is based on. I'm convinced we're going to start seeing psychedelic everything, gaudy rainbow colors and glitter, confetti, etc. Isn't that what we typically see from SG?? I feel the 'eye candy' is what is taking the most away from the park right now. The park already has a natural beauty. Especially now that the trees are mature (remember when the park was first opened?). I don't want to be walking below tinsel year-round. I don't want gaudy distractions and pastel colors everywhere! I want to see AUTHENTIC Europe. Remember the OLD COUNTRY? Yeah, so do I. And I don't need any visual help, other than keeping everything thematic and authentic, TYVM! Sigh. That video was just awful. It was the first time I've ever seen SG. I hope it was the last, because after I saw his 'routine'...everything else made sense.

A potential 'good thing' that MAY come from this is that SG will stop trying to make Entwined 'work'...and let that Candyland show pass into history, hopefully to be forgotten forever.

All of this!!!! Especially the bold part!!! Wouldn't it be great if they just let Entwined fade, and let the almighty This is Oktoberfest reign for ever and ever! I think you deserve some rep too.(hint to all other members)

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

CK, when the park says live, they just mean actual people are performing. Live versus movie.

I actually don't want all live musicians in this show. I kind of see this show turning out like Monster Stomp Revamped, yeah you have the live drums and singing, but everything else is pre-recorded. I just think things would work out better that way for some reason for this particular venue and show.

Then let them perform the music.
^ agree 100%. Let them play! Bring back all the live musicians!! It might be enough to cause SG to run screaming from the park...pulling his hair out and crying, "Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought loyal Busch Gardens musicians could destroy my beautiful wickedness? Oooooh, look out! I'm going! Oooooh! Ooooooh!"

...and the masses shouting after him, "You have no power here! Begone, before somebody drops a house on you, too!"

I couldn't resist ;)

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I don't know why but I get the feeling that this show will be like American Jukebox was. A show with live performers (dancers) and vocalists singing to the original songs in a timeline going from the 50's/60's up to, say the 90's at the latest but probably 80's. With what they've shown so far in the logo design it looks like they're going with an psychedelic or, as flamanar said, Austin Powers look. But so long at that look stays inside the Globe Theater that will work for me. Then it will just be a matter to see if it's a quality show or not and that is a whole other question.

Quite an oversight on my part, right?

Ok: I can envision a rainbow-colored poofy/frizzy wig being a suitable 'replacement' for his unrepentant follicles. He needs to make his exit a grand and colorful spectacle, you know :p

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Ok, a question. Is Entwined gone or, hopefully not, returning?

I hope they have a mix of projection, singers/dancers, and musicians. It would be cool to see how they could mix all those together without it being a trainwreck like Entwined.
