RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

They come back during the "Help" song. Then the two brothers bicker and fight as their sister tries to calm them down, then they all hug before running back to their parents. (If someone is being sarcastic here, it went right over my head.)

-The animals featured are a blue octopus, crocodile, and walrus.  The blue ring octopus has one of the most toxic venoms on earth, to which there is no treatment.  The saltwater crocodile is considered to be some of the most aggressive of the crocodilians.  Both are very deadly animals.

-While the walrus isn't particularly known for being dangerous, it does have some significant British cultural history of being a harbinger of death.  In Lewis Carroll's sequel to Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, there is a poem in which a Walrus and Carpenter lure oysters from safety only to be devoured by the two.  Not only is the Walrus featured the most in this segment, but the children flock around him.

-Towards the end of the scene, the unity song does have some more play, hinting at a clear struggle.  However, the final line in this scene is “We Will Rock You”, the aggressive song, and the children are never seen or mentioned again after this point again.
.....

While I find this to be very deep thought. After watching tonight's performance with the help of some "beverages" I have another perspective.

At the end of the "Octopus's Garden" sequence, they started, briefly, into "I am the Walrus" and during each lyric, they pointed to a different character. For example: when they said "I am the eggman" they pointed at the crocodile, which is a reptile that lays eggs.

It may too simplistic, but it suddenly seemed to make sense to me.

Um - there was a momentary graphic saying "We had triplets!" As much as I would love for this to be that deep, a car crash at the end of that sequence would seem to miss the HUGE opportunity presented in the song "A Day in the Life." Anyway, with all of this in mind - I've decided I'm no longer reading any reviews of anything new before I see it.

Cause I thought that show was fantastic.

I'll write a full trip report with F&W Reviews tomorrow sometime.

I prefer not to over think things and look for deep meaning behind things, because really the park doesn't put any deep meaning into anything really.

Soooooo, Nora and I got kicked out of The Globe today :) TWICE! We had just finished early dinner at Squires and there was a big black cloud above, so since we were also hot, we decided to go into the theater. So we are sitting in there playing 'I spy' for like 10 minutes and all of a sudden, staff members are coming at us from all directions. At this point I'm pretty sure they're coming for us because we are the only ones in there. They told us we weren't supposed to be in there and I was pretty sure upon entering that we shouldn't be in there, but I didn't really care :) I then put Nora in her 'off road' stroller and we left. We went to the England skyride and I left her stroller there. Half way across to France I realized that I left our drink cups in the seats next to me during our Globe 'I Spy' game. We walked back there to get the cups and then had to go get the stroller from the sky ride. THEN we returned, for god knows why, to see London Rocks. I pushed her inside in the middle of a crowd only to be kicked out AGAIN for having a stroller inside! We put it in the parking area and re-entered the theater for the 4th time to see the show. Most of you know how I feel about the show so I figured I would give you Nora's review. I asked her "did you like the show?" She said. "It was too loud" :) What a great time we had today though!

^^ I saw that yesterday too. It has custom made liscense plates too.

By the way the numbers must be really bad in terms of attendance, because they're making employees where LR pins.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Saw the show this morning! I have many thoughts, overall very good. Certainly my new favorite show in the park!

What made me the happiest is that my 4 year old daughter couldn't stop singing the songs after she saw the show, especially Octopus' Garden. She loved the puppets and how interactive they were, and quite frankly, so did I. I see a lot of negative feedback on here about the puppets and I can see why they aren't for everyone. I think what people need to understand is that they are specifically for the kids. If you don't have kids and can't enjoy their happiness, then the puppet section probably isn't for you. The walrus was hilarious too. Very interactive and great physicality.

I also thought the story was clear. Could it be clearer? Sure. But I got it. You guys said there are going to be changes? Do you know what kind of changes? I personally don't want them to change too much. The beginning and end could be more interactive. I'd like the see the band acknowledge the audience more since he is actually playing a rock concert at the time. Also, the Queen says in the beginning "no singing or dancing." So I wasn't sure whether or not I could sing with the cast at the end of the show. I was very hesitant, but I ended up doing it when the all came down for "All You Need Is Love."

I honestly thought the cast was terrific. Major shoutout to the two main guys of the show. If you guys are reading this, YOU ROCK! The girls were really great too. Sounded amazing. Dancers were really great too. How do they dance on that slanted stage?! My knees would die haha.

Like I said, overall fantastic show! Definitely a wonderful addition to the Busch Gardens family :)

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I watched todays show from the 2nd row and the 3rd row right in the middle of the stage and noticed so much more than sitting a few rows farther back and more to the end of the row there is very little live music playing but I dont care I love this show and am quickley starting to like this show more than Celtic Fyre and I didnt think this would happen but it has this shows storyline is so good it needs no tweaking, long live London Rocks...

Just came back from my annual trip to Williamsburg. This is basically my feelings towards LR.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Today I was in England when they announced an emergency situation. As we were being taken out of the area on the back roads, I saw all of the cast/crew running towards us. I'm glad everyone from LR is safe and everyone else in the area is safe. Busch Gardens did a good job handling today's situation. After everything was said and done, I caught the 6:30 show of LR. It was great. The cast had tons of energy and seems like they are having more fun with the show. They did a lot more things facing out towards the audience to get them to participate. LR cast/crew, if you are reading this, you all rock.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Does the audience actually participate? When I saw this show, everyone was silent and still.I guess it just depends.

Well... A few did. The people near me were singing along and during the finale a few were clapping. It's not much but it was some.
