RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Last year, I pointed out that they used a clip of Alpengeist to represent Montu. You could tell because the train had a zero car and was white and blue, although the track and supports were blue and tan.

All parks do this. I saw a Cedar Point commercial with a coaster from Kings Island. I guess they don't make these commercials for the fans that return every year. It's attracting those that don't visit or have never been to the park and wouldn't know the difference.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Changes have been made. Queen's voice sounds re-recorded. Scents are working. Added sound effects for the train ride. More pre-show Queen announcements. Sitting closer to the stage makes you feel more interactive with the stage as far as video goes. Nothing has changed with the puppets yet. Water effects still not working, but should be coming soon.

The sound design is amazing. I honestly can not believe how much work was actually put into the sound. A lot of computer control. Similar technical changes may be made to most of the park's other theaters as well. My guess is Abbeystone will be up next for a theater refurbishment.

This weekend will be interesting.

Looking forward to seeing this show. The 60's was an amazing era in history. Sure, the outside of the Globe doesn't match, they are trying to catch guest's eyes. It's fun advertising is what it is. Why knock on everything the park does. Be a little positive about it, and you may actually enjoy yourselves... you could be surprised. :D

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I'm so glad they re-recorded the Queen's voice, from the video, I couldn't understand 75% of what she was saying. I've watched it like 10 times now, and I still can only understand half of what she's saying. That voice was even worse than Gerta's. Now if only they could work a bit on the puppets, then it'd be a decent show.

How the heck do 3 foot puppets cost a fortune, other than the fact that they have to pay 6 people to move around 3, 3 foot puppets around the stage?!

I'm not saying get rid of them. I am saying no changes were made to hide the performers operating them.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

It adds something special to the show. I am sure the kids will enjoy the puppets regardless. Already saw on the BGW FB page that a parent was complaining about the making out scenes. Stating that they were more risky than fiends.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

1. They are kissing, not making out. Maybe if their parents didn't have such disappointing sex lives, this wouldn't upset them so much.

2. You can see legitimate "making out" almost anywhere in the park on a daily basis being demonstrated by the hordes of teenagers.

This is a non-issue, and shouldn't need to be addressed. People love eachother, sorry.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

As I stated in my posting that is was stated by a FB fan parent. And there are lots of other worst things that go on in the park than a little making out. Do I agree with her, nope. I never stated it was an issue, just stating that this is going to be an argument from parents.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

I think a prop car that would show their feet would be the right way to go. I'm thinking something similar to how Clancey the Leprechaun was operated, except without the automatic facial movements. I am assuming the park contracted Animax for these.
BTW, just for what it's worth, I'm not sure if this was Scott's idea. He and Jason Kantrowitz think very much alike in regards to tackiness.

Just a side note, anyone who wants a copy of the show I suggest downloading Zachary's before it is too late, just in case it my have to be taken down.

A new rule for London Rocks! specifically is no video recording is allowed and the only response I got was due to music rights. I can only imagine that the park may face some trouble as well as the video may be requested to be removed from Youtube.

That is if the park or the owners of the music rights decide to take action.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Does anyone have an overall opinion of the final product of the show? I have yet to see it.

I watched a video of it on YouTube, and from what I saw, it was pretty good. I didn't agree with having an 80's type looking character (Slash from GNR) in it, but it was easy to keep up with and the choice of music was good. I can't wait to see it when we come in.
