What in the world are these park presidents refusing to deal with that is getting them fired so fast?

Presumably they become aquatinted with the books, realize the park is in deep, deep shit, and then inform corporate that immediate change is required to prevent the park from collapsing further, destroying the last remnants of its reputation, and hemorrhaging even more guests (and hence, money). One imagines corporate doesn't take kindly to that sort of thing as the money being requested actually needs to be used to buy back more stock, pay lawyers to fight their self-inflicted lawsuit with a beloved, children's non-profit, retheme Sesame areas after they inevitably lose said lawsuit, buy crappy, bottom-of-the-barrel IP rights in an attempt to satiate Wall St. investors, pay for expensive corporate consulting fees, etc.

TAMPA, Fla., June 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Busch Gardens Tampa Bay today announced the appointment of Jon Vigue as the park's new President, ushering in a new era of growth and innovation at one of America's most iconic theme parks in the midst of a more than $100 million investment in new attractions and park enhancements.

So we have gone from more than a $100 million dollar investment in June to a $200 million dollar investment in October.

I did want an expanded amusement park storyline in Succession...

Also, to take a different angle here, how much of a trainwreck does Merlin/Legoland have to be to send Bacica running back to Busch Gardens Tampa of all places after less than a year?!
I think it's more of Sea World paying him to come back. I was at Legoland last Saturday and I felt the park was operating pretty well. Almost every ride was running and apart from slow operations here and there (Ninjago needs a better load process) and Coastersaurus shitting the bed for most of the day, the park is in a better position than BGT from a guest standpoint.

This park feels like something you'd see in a movie. Rats, bugs, elbow-deep in coleslaw, knee-deep in shit, park leadership changing like every couple days, paid lockers OH WAIT FREE LOCKERS oh nevermind paid lockers... expensive tickets and yet some rides STILL cost extra, park is literally rotting before our eyes...
Literally incomprehensibly insane to me
