I saw a photo on TPR of new columns at Gwazi that look almost exactly like the ones used for Le Scoot's sign.

I wonder what contractor they are using. My guess is Oak Island.

So Luke and I decided to ride Le Scoot on this beautiful day. When we walked up to the queue I noticed some new, audible music coming out of the speakers in the first portion of the queue. It was different music than played on the regular New France soundtrack, had a little more of a folk touch to it and some songs were instrumental while others were lyrical. The logging theme and bluegrass feel was definitely portrayed well through the music. We thought it was a nice thematic touch added over the week and moved on.

We boarded our log and proceeded toward the lift hill when I noticed music coming out of the also seemingly new speakers attached to the lift hill rails. It seemed similar to the music played in the queue. It was somewhat difficult to hear, but was still somewhat audible, we noticed some songs more than others. It's definitely more audible at the top of the lift hill. So there was also lift music which was another great bonus added just this week! We debated whether or not they were completely finished considering it could be easy to added speakers to that entire turnaround in the treetops. It was also playing at the block section before the second drop.

We proceeded to the turnaround towards the saw mill where we noticed more new speakers! This time playing instrumental music with a thematic, intermittent announcement playing along the lines of "Hold onto your hats, there's a drop ahead! Sit up straight and steady yourself for a sudden slow down at the bottom of the hill." All said in a country accent and then more instrumental bluegrass. We got very excited over this new thematic feature until we rounded the turnaround and looked towards the saw mill in front of us.

I think it's safe to say both our jaws dropped when we saw a ton of new thematic elements waiting in front of us. From 2-3 animatronic axe blades coming down on our heads to the numerous saw blades and pulleys stuck up in the rafters. And then at the end, a new saw blade replaced just over this week with a rusted tinge type of look. Unfortunately it was not spinning yet, but it seemed it may still be having work done to it, so that is hopefully soon to come.

I cannot describe to you how awestruck we were by all of this. Nor can words describe the theming that was put in just over this week. (Although, I heard BGWFans is letting out some exclusive pictures in that respect ;))  All I can say, is get out and make it a priority to ride Le Scoot very soon. The thematic elements added just this week alone really give the flume a whole new lease on life, as if the improvements that have occurred already weren't enough to do so. (They totally were though)

tl;dr: Tons of new, awesome thematic elements were added to Le Scoot! I think I can say it was much more than anyone was expecting. Get out and ride it soon!

So I decided to ride Le Scoot twice more this evening. I actually got stuck on the lift hill the second time around due to a temp. stop, so that was fun, but that's not what I wanted to talk about.

When I went through the sawmill the first time I noticed that the machinery for the added moving affects are hidden behind a similar, thematic wooden board. On the second time around, I decided to look up more and way up in the rafters a little bit in front of the spinning saw, I noticed a latter-type structure, which was not actually for maintenance but appeared to be thematic. And then on top of the ladder I noticed another wooden board like the ones I mention earlier, and attached to whatever was behind that was a long steel bar, but nothing yet attached to the end of that. So could we see something attached to that soon? I guess time will tell.

Additionally, along the wall of the sawmill I noticed speakers that didn't have noise coming out of them, but when I looked around more I noticed they were placed sporadically at different heights (you can actually see a little of this in BGWFans' picture above) in different areas. This could possibly be the implementation of sound effects! With the speakers in such abnormal positions, perhaps each speaker will be making a different noise and with all the different noises mashing together, it could be a really cool sound effect.

Finally, being that I rode it in the evening, I noticed the lights, or lack there of. There were lights in the past so it could just be because the attendant had not yet turned them on. OR, could the pre-existing lights have been removed to make way for new lighting implementations? Again, time will tell. But it definitely seems to me that even more things are in store for Le Scoot.

I like it that the music resembles the old area soundtrack. However, I don't care for it much on the ride. I at least want the first part to be total silence. In my opinion, this messes up the tranquil atmosphere while floating along.

I like the tranquil atmosphere of Le Scoot, but I also fully support a new thematic atmosphere. After all, the first portion of the ride isn't going to be silent come the near future one way or another, the park is building a wooden roller coaster, which isn't exactly a quiet variety, right through that area.

I can't say whether I like it quiet or with music. I've only ever ridden it in the quiet treetops. I like music though. So I am staying optimistic on this one.
Edit: as long as it isn't pop crap or disco.
