I rode it yesterday and was a bit disappointed. I could barely hear the music on the lift unless I was right next to one of the speakers. It needs to be louder or they need to add more speakers. Also, neither the large axe nor the saw were moving. That was surprising since they are brand new. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. We don't need another ride with effects that are not properly maintained.
I still think there needs to be sound effects in the saw mill. The building has the visual factor needed to create an exciting climax, but it's missing something. The sounds of grinding wood and buzzing saws would make the experience right before the drop much more dramatic.
I totally understand why there needs to be operators at various intervals of the ride but to be honest it's either weirdly awkward or weirdly comical to see a disinterested teenager staring at you while entering the saw house thing, a moment that's supposed to be full of anxiety and anticipation ruined by a stilted "Hey, how are you guys today?"
Closed for the season. They always close the log flume after labor day but keep Pompeii open... wish they would keep log flume open until the first week or two in October. They open it in mid March and the weather is usually a lot cooler. Would have been nice today when it was 85+ degrees.
I think Le Scoot's closure is also partly because of InvadR construction.
Any word on if the really nice Le Scoot signage will make a return? Seems like a shame to waste it and some work had to go into it. It feels a disservice to the ride if all we have now is the hard to see version hidden by Invadr walls.
We heard that Le Scoot arch was damaged, and we don't know if it will be fixed and put back up. I totally agree that the current sign is hidden by the fence.

Le Scoot is down and drained at the moment. The staff at the entrance said they were not sure if it would open today.
I found some old pics of Le Scoot...1983-84 maybe? Look at how Le Scoot connected to the Rhine.

Those are excellent shots! Having rough dates for them will likely help narrow down when Le Scoot's spillway was removed too...

So why did they disconnect Le Scoot from the Rhine? Was it to make building Alpengeist less of a hassle, or did they disconnect it earlier than that? Why have they never reconnected it? I've always thought Alpengeist would look even more beautiful with some water down in the valley.
