Okay, so I'm not one to be the most positive about the park, but I actually really like that brown color. Here's my reasoning: Le Scoot is themed to a sawmill in a trapper's village. It floats through the woods supposedly in Canada. The white paint definitely contributed to the Alpine theming by Alpengeist and made the spot very picturesque, that's for sure. However, the rides are two different rides. I love it when rides interact, but I think- at most- 0.01% of Alpengeist's theming will be lost while riding due to this. Will this spot look less wintry? Yes, and perhaps that means there will be less theming building up to Alpengeist. But on the other hand, the area should look much more natural and forested in this way, much like it was when the ride opened. With Alpengeist blazing through and the tips of the fake snow caps peaking over the trees, there should be a nice contrast of snowy and foresty here.

I have to say, so far I've been pretty impressed with the minor improvements BGW has made this year.

EDIT: Photo from TripAdvisor showing Alpengeist going by Le Scoot with its new paint.

I am very excited to see this ride up and running! This is the one ride left in the park that I haven't ridden since the 90's. Hopefully I can go for a 'scoot' on Friday :)

The all and amazing Evan managed to become stuck in the Le Scoot log today. Yes stuck.

It was my first time riding this ride in years. I think the last time I rode this was around 2007... I'm not entirely sure. It began with a group of 4, we decided to just ride in one boat instead of splitting it up 2 and 2. This involved me sitting in the lap of the rider in the back seat. Well, I didn't sit in the seat correctly I guess and my knees ended up wedged to the top of the log. During the ride, I told the others that I believe I was stuck and was going to have troubles unloading. Little did I know. Once we got into the unload dock, everyone disembarked... except for me. Where I sat there trying my best to get out. After a bunch of wiggling around, I got my left leg free. But my right leg was in there really good. It was getting to the point that it was painful to move my leg around. I asked the ride operator if he could pull off my flip flop to help give me some more room. Of course he was confused and tried pulling on my leg that was already free. After a few more times asking him to pull on the flip flop as opposed to my leg, he finally went to get my flip flop out. I don't think he believed when I said I couldn't get out, but he did when he started pulling off my flip flop. After a lot of pulling (on the flip flop), he got it out. So I had a bit more room to move my leg around. With the help of the ride op and the little bit of extra room of not having my flip flop on, I finally freed my leg.

As I got out of the boat, I noticed everyone was staring and 6 logs ended up stacking up behind me. Everyone in the queue line was watching, every ride op, ect.

And that's another embarrassing story by Evan. I'm truly talented. And yes, my leg was in a bit of pain after finally getting out.

This may very well top the running into a mirror story. Way to go, Evan! ;)

This is why people avoid you. I would've left you and said I wasn't part of your group in embarassment.

They drain it occasionally for cleaning. It definitely could be just an early seasonal closing but its not for sure. They do in fact drain it during peak season every now and again however normally the reservoir is filled before guests see it.

Fun Fact: New France team members seem to always be so cordial when you ask them questions.
