Dogwood Grill still looks like nothing has replaced it. Kinda surprised with the Country Kitchen converted into the Prestige Lounge, only place to get food in Old VA are the Boardwalk Fries
The Director of Food & Beverage told me that Dogwood’s is coming back online later this year. They wanted to make sure there were food options in Old VA.

Also worth noting that Parched Pig sells a variety of snacks now, which I think is new? And there’s a redone snack stand next to the Flying Eagles that’s been renamed “Grizzly Snacks” that serves walking tacos among other things now.

Some other items:
Parking lot side entrance large area of repaving where it was solid potholes. !
Fence around go karts. Anyone's guess if this is to hide them or they want to be able to work on it later this year.
Outpost: another defection to chicken tenders, from the sausage. Shrimp now grilled, look bland maybe aren't. I liked the fried a lot but they seemed to have lost the knowledge needing to dip them ice cold into the batter or it will be too thick. Didn't see the pickled vegetables although I mainly like them when it's hot outside. Something about not being able to use the little cups for the sauce? Maybe just out of them. Pan bread still awesome.
Taco shack sign removed.
Racer 75 South turnaround apart and under construction.
FoF down most of evening.

Fencing seems a theme this year. Even Grizzly's exit got a bunch of fresh wood. The fencing in site X is extreme, Arachnidia is its own little dead end, Reptilian a big one. I think it relates to not having Let's Get Wild, it would be too congested. Could offer some Haunt potential, but traffic to actual rides would be a problem.

Grizzly is smooth to the last turnaround, a little mild but makes up for it the right amount during the final return (probably too much in a wheel seat, just realized ought to dare try one sometime, been years). The hill before and in the tunnel hit in every seat.

Just a note they likely had to change the shrimp to grilled when they added the tenders. Food alergery control prohibits cooking the two in the same oil and they likely don't have room for another fryer.

Would have been better to drop the shrimp and keep the sausage. The sausage was made fresh and was really good. The grilled shrimps are fine, but they aren't as in depth flavor wise as the sausage was.

Personally I like that both Grain and Grill and Outpost have a sea food option even if it's just shrimp.

I rode back row several times last night and for a wheel seat, I’d say the roughness was fine. I actually quite appreciated it as it gave the finale some bite as you got ejected out of your seat on each bunny hill.

Also, I agree that the ejector hill in the tunnel is definitely a good one, I found it to be enjoyably violent. I’d say give it a try in a wheel seat and report back!
