I disagree with this point. The majority of fights tend to happen in the scare zones and having less people in the mazes means more people in the scare zones. Yikes.
Didn't they used to heavily discount single day tickets during Haunt? Or maybe that was only Fridays. It would make sense to increase the minimum price to get in, but offer a combo ticket that's still not too bad.

The upcharge should also reduce young children in the mazes.

They better bring it with the quality.

I don’t know how to feel…we’ll still go and do the houses this year, and if the quality does improve then maybe we’ll stick around, but if it doesn’t, then we’ll probably not do Haunt for awhile. We already cancelled our APs due to everything else going on, it’s a mess

ISTG I'm only going this year for Pantherian and Fof. Grizzly is closed, TwiTim has notoriously bad ops, and Dominator and Rapterra are kinda mid. And I am NOT paying for this maze pass shit they're doing.

It’s the same damn mazes, like damn how long are we holding on to blood on the bayou and trick or treat
I love those mazes :/ BOTB is themed so incredibly well and the actors hide so well i always get a good scare in there. With monster con and FEAR im not sure I wanna gamble getting rid of either of those for new ones tbh

Yeah, it's closed because of GrimWoods using the Grizzly gift shop as a queue.
I don't remember them closing grizzly because of that? Guess I never paid attention. That seems really stupid because there is plenty of room to seperate grims line to grizzly entrance.

Now grizzly being loud interfearing wiith grims atmosphere I can buy

^^-- Was Grizzly closed all day? Not sure I went any during the day last year lol.

There is some hope of less crowded mazes. However they have been plenty crowded at Six Flags parks in the past. The upcharge is low price except Saturdays, which does make sense (for them). I see on the CP site that the all-season maze pass ($69) will include Priority, which is probably bad news for single night Priority purchasers. Also Priority on many Saturdays is the same price as all season, WTF ?!

Forgive me if I'm dumb, but does it say anywhere where if you purchase the pass you can go multiple times through the same maze? How bout with express pass? That's really some mess if it's only once.

This event and, increasingly this park, is turning into a joke. Fuck this bullshit. A surprise, rug-pull upcharge for an event I paid to be included in my pass... and they aren't debuting a single new house? Seriously, fuck this. Actually garbage.
This is how I feel about Dorney Park's haunt this year. Nothing new, except paying $15-30 depending on the day for houses. As far as I can tell, they're not even putting money into the event this year (or if they are, it's yet to be announced anywhere). The oldest house in the park is turning ten years old this year, and the "newest" house is Ghost in the Machine from 2023.

In years past, they had a good mix of rides, haunted attractions, and entertainment for one price - but I can't really recommend it anymore.

Is Six Flags solely responsible for the upcharge and lack of new Haunt attractions or is the park itself have say in that as well? If KD does, and hasn't offered anything new when they could've, that's a huge disappointment. Sure Rapterra and the Jungle-X has been a great addition, but it seems like since then (especially with the merger) other departments have gone downhill. I still love the park, but it worries me what the future will hold.

And not even ZERO new shows, but a substantial reduction in shows - now it's just the opening ceremony (Blood Reign) and Black Widow Burlesque. Lost shows: The main song-and-dance at the I-street stage, the rock-music-cover-band, the dancers, and apparently the DJ in Site-X. How the mightly have fallen from the Heads will Roll and Burnette the Barker era.

Cedar Point, the "flagship park," got literally nothing new for Haunt except for the Conjuring experience.

I'll still be going to the park, but will not be buying the HAP at any of the CF parks I'm going to this Haunt Season except for Kings Island.

Hey, at least Dorney is getting a new show and didn't lose their big song-and-dance show.

Corporate is definitely responsible for the implementation of the HAPs (every park in the chain is getting one except for KBF, which is a separately gated event, and SFDL for some reason), and is likely responsible for the entertainment budget reduction which limits the expansion/renovation of mazes/scare zones/shows.

To be clear, I don't have a problem with upcharge houses. I support the ethical transition to upcharge houses, in fact.

What I have a problem with is having the value of my pass DECIMATED by the surprise removal of 1.5 out of the 2 major seasonal events at KD that—just to be crystal clear here—I ALREADY PAID FOR. I have a problem with being turned into the product through the aggressive implementation of garrish sponsorships WHILE NOW BEING EXPECTED TO PAY FOR A PRODUCT I ALREADY BOUGHT. I have a problem with the continued reduction in event offerings and the continued stagnation of what is easily the most profitable season of the year while I'm expected to withstand unprecedented abuse and pay more than ever before for an event I ALREADY FUCKING PAID FOR. I have a problem with the chain selling me a neighboring event, Six Flags America's FrightFest, and turning around and stealing that value away from me too. I very honestly feel that Six Flags has successfully stolen untold amounts of pass value from me this season.

Seriously. Fuck this. They don't have me over the barrel they think they do—the Mid-Atlantic still, fortunately, has other corporations I can give my money to this fall. Find me elsewhere this Halloween season. Six Flags/KD has found my line. I haven't bought one of those MVP pass sale passes yet, but if I do, I WILL NOT buy from Kings Dominion. The effects of this abuse on the balance sheets out of KD next year need to be crystal clear to the unethical assholes making these decisions.

Unfortunately in the mid-west (Chicagoland) we’re truly fucked. Everything other than SF is too far a drive without a reputation worth it.
