I-95: Highway from Hell
I-81: Highway to Hell
I-66: Highway through Hell
Does that make the Blue Ridge Parkway the Stairway To Heaven because *chefs kiss* if it weren’t for the 25 mph speed limit it would be perfect.

As long as we are off-topic, I want to point out that as bad as I95 is, I66 is a million times worse.
As someone that has lived off of both highways. I'll take 66 any day. I currently live off of 66 and commute it almost daily. Even with the express lane construction, I don't hate life as much as the times I'm on 95

I don't think that's damning enough..... As annoying as 95, 81, and 66 are with traffic I actually find 64 one of the most frustrating interstates to drive.
For me 64 is just boring. Once you get away from the traffic it’s nothing.

Anyways we are way off topic.

Do we need an interstate highway thread to continue the traffic discussions? Back on topic, having been to Kalahari when I was younger, I can say it's a fantastic fit for this area, although GWL is far superior in my opinion.

I've lived off of both, as well, and commuted both directions on both. The only time of day that you can be guaranteed not to hit a backup on 66 inside the Beltway is when it is HOV. I have gotten stuck in more traffic jams in the middle of the night on 66 than 95. Which is not to say that they don't both suck. But 66 has almost no capacity and traffic gets worse on it every year.

I'm outside the beltway. I refuse to go inside. I will not take a job that requires me in DC

I remember Kalahari considered a resort in Fredericksburg back in like 2012, but the project was cancelled in favor of Poconos. Glad to see they’re trying it again.

So a bit of a development on this. Apparently WhiteWaterWest will be making the slides for this park. Kalahari has used ProSlide for most of their slides at their other 4 resorts. So this is a change I wasn’t expecting but could also be very welcomed.

They’re also working on a Dells expansion with them for 2026 which includes the “worlds first covered Boomerango”

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I consistently find ProSlide products to be better than White Water ones so this is a disappointing development IMO.

Note: I may be biased due to going to a new White Water West-designed park near opening a few years back and having my day ruined by what was almost certainly a concussion on the top of one of their enclosed tubes in the middle of one of their brand new slides. Not a good time.
