And to be clear, my tower idea is just a gut. I've seen precious little else fact-wise so far.

Just not feeling a giga or something is in the cards so soon after Madrid. Plus, those flying/swinging things seem to be popular (just not w/ me).

So we have no idea how tall this is right? Considering the are requires 60 feet over grade, the description of noticeably higher than Mach Tower needs to take the distance the person was and the angle they were looking at it. Standing down in the Rhine, even 20 feet taller can look that big. Standing at a distance in Kingsmill takes a big difference.

Personally I see possibilities this is either a tall flat possibly something along the lines of a windseeker which I honestly would feel would be a nice addition. Or it's another coaster. If it's another coaster this soon then I would start to question if we might looking at the end of service life in the near future for one of our current ones.

I think the 'issue' with Mach Tower (reliability aside) is that it doubles the job of a windseeker/starflyer and drop/launch tower. And the Windseekers are no reliability monsters themselves. Not to mention a small breeze shuts them down.

I don't think it's a service life with another coaster either. Which one would it be? Outside of Nessie, Apollo is next at 20 and going strong. Maybe 2 coasters (really 3) that close together is a sign that they saw something they can jump on. Or there were a couple they wanted that the price was right. Maybe the ballon test on FF was for a giga, they realized the space or something didn't work, and shifted to FP and this other one was a quick replacement.

I like the way you're thinking. And since there's not much known about this survey yet, to include the height, there's nothing that really works for or against that thinking. So I'll choose to hope for now. Maybe a giga. Preferably a B&M flyer or wing. But my gut is still a flying/swinging thingy, assuming the height is >> 60' and to your point, we don't really know that yet.

Lol none of their coasters have reached the end of their service. Maybe at most Tempesto would be relocated to SWSA or something.

Nobody thought Big Bad Wolf was at the end of it's service life until they announced it was closing. I don't wanna see it happen nor do I wish for it or see it happening, but LNM just got a 50th-anniversary level of a party for 40 years...

Okay but what does that have to do with their 10th coaster

It certainly didn't help that Arrow Dynamics was dead and gone. I imagine that made getting replacement parts very costly. LNM faces the same issue but not to the same extent, as Arrow loopers are way more common than their suspended coasters ever were.

Not to get off track but at ACE's event last year Busch said that BBW needed both new tracks and trainst to stay in service.

I not saying that one would close right away but that building another one MIGHT be a sign that Busch is thinking that one might be gone in the next 3-5 years and is preparing for it to not have a gap like they did with BBW till Bolt came along. As a guess I would think possibly Alpy given the concerns that they had with the footer last year.

If the height survey is for a new drop tower, on Intamin's website they have a newer version of Falcon's Fury. I doubt they would go with Intamin, since they already have issues with Intamin with of rides like MT & EFP. Hopefully not a tall swing ride you can do that up 95 North, now if it was a Star tower or like the one we have in Orlando that is 450ft yay,(however I don't like swing rides) but it would be different if you could lay down and be hooked in good and we could fly type swing then give it to me. I can have 2 beers at FH and then be brave, it's not the heights, I use towalk up the lift hills, it's the round and round. But anyway maybe it would be something to do more rides and such. BGW does need some more flats even though just getting FF. What about something like the Claw at HP but higher, taller and go upside down with a stall out would be fun.

I really don't see any chance that MT is replaced it's only 8 years old. If this is a flat then I think it's either a swing or something along the lines of a larger fully inverting delirium.
