And really, this show itself is merely "saucy" as opposed to the full on "trashy" like Fiends. I can totally understand a stigma attached to the Nurses though.
This show is almost nothing like Fiends. It's more of a comedic show with a lot of music. I can only say there was one part where it was just pure eye-candy, but the rest was very moderate compared to Fiends.
So, when I went to this last weekend, I noticed a big improvement in the food, it still wasn't amazing, but it was all prepared nicely, and the dessert(which is all that really matters) went from having one selection to four.
The desert option started with three. It never had one option unless they ran out of something. However, more deserts are always welcomed and I'm glad to hear there appears to be more diversity in the delights.
I went opening day, there was the pumpkin spice cake and the make your own desert parfait. As I said, there was never just one unless they ran out of something.
I will say every time I went back they seemed to be improving the food greatly each time. I also noticed Blood Banquet shares some of the items such as the lemon strawberry cake and carved turkey.
Truth be told, I have not been enticed one bit to get down to Blood Banquet this year, so I have not been, but if I do go sometime, I'll be sure to make a dessert comparison between the two. Actually, one of the main reasons I haven't been, is because I know they don't have the red velvet cakes anymore, which enraged me, since they were my favorite dessert last year, and I would eat way too many on my visits to BB.
I ate there last week. The food was good; as matter of fact some of the best Turkey I have had in a while. The show was not bad; it was a little pricey at 22 bucks, but once a year it's worth it.
I enjoyed this show so much I decided to see it again yesterday and brought my mom. They sat us for the 3:30 seating and then notified us half way through our meals that one of the nurses had thrown her back in the previous show and there would be no more shows for the rest of the day. Igor and the rest of the cast came out and took pictures and wished they could've performed for us. As stressful as this was for the park they handles it very well. A supervisor went table to table and refunded us the price we had paid. We were allowed to stay and eat if we chose and we were given free reservations to Blood Banquet. I was thoroughly impressed with the service they provided to make up for the inconvenience (that was out of their control) that was caused. I wonder though if this effect any shows next weekend?
This might have been because a nurse was supposedly moved from Igor's to Fiends. The current choreographer thought Fiends didn't work well enough with five nurses. Not unlike the park to lie about why something was changed.
On the other side, I don't believe Igor's can't run with only 2 nurses. It will be interesting to see how these shows go with more vacancies probably coming.
They did run the 2:30 fiends show with 6 nurses (I sat at the show) while they did have a 2:30 at Igor's yesterday. I watched a lot of people leaving Igor's at 3:20pm that had a complete show so I'm not sure if that is it.
