As far I can tell the GP like i305, and they loved Volcano which had pretty aggressive launches. So what exactly does "GP-friendly" mean here?

I will be pretty disappointed if they add a launch coaster with weak launches in place of Volcano. If it's going to have launches, they need to be aggressive.
Hmmm. I can’t say I agree.

I hate the term “GP-friendly” because I know plenty of enthusiasts that hate the high thrill ones. So I’d go like this:
Intense - I-305, FoF, Twisted Timbers
High thrill - Anachonda, Dominator, Grizzly
Moderate thrill - Tumbuli
Low thrill (AKA Family) - BLSC, Racer, WSX, Reptilian

I think something with more moderate launches would round out giving them a moderate thrill that doesn’t invert.

I can't say you're wrong on that, but that wouldn't prevent me from being disappointed. I'm sure I'd like whatever they added anyway, but if it's a launch coaster I definitely want them to add something with aggressive launch(es).

I mean as far as we know right now, it could be pretty much anything. There are newer Mack launch coasters that do have pretty fast launches but I can't say the soft launch of Copperhead Strike comes anywhere close to ruining that attraction for me.

Time to bring this back. Mack can do intense launches, it’s all about what the park wants and obviously that’s not what CW wanted for copper head.

If you ask me this is the perfect blend of intense and graceful elements the gp would be all over it

Short of some of the air launches, I don't think too intense a launch is the problem for the GP, unless the whole ride is low intensity. Too loud, etc. maybe. Actually Firechaser Express's launches were almost too punchy to me, although you only get up to ~30 MPH.

I thought Wave Breaker honestly had more kick to it than Copperhead, probably Backlot Stunt Coaster as well honestly. Those rides are surprisingly similar actually.

Sorry for the double post on this but here me out.

What if a ride similar to Voltron coming to Europa in 2024 or a Big Dipper? Anything similar to Voltron would be excellent.

Since the replacement has been a hot topic recently, I’ll continued the topic in the right thread. The only things we know are that 1 they were already looking at a wing coaster, 2 whatever it is is going to be themed to either a feline or some kind of bird, and 3 there were people seen examining the plot. Now taking into consideration that they were already looking at a coaster for the plot, IMO I think it’s safe to say that’s what’s going there, cause if it were flat ride package there would be more animals left. Now I won’t get into coasters types cause I’ve already thrown ideas out there in the past but, as far as theming goes, this might be a lil far fetched but I think they might build a faux mountain up against the fof building to cover it up, reason being they have a mountain off in the distance on the map of JX. Btw the pic is from coaster 101 blog.

I wonder how they're going to edit that map when more things come. Definitely throw something up to prevent the FoF building from being an eyesore but I wonder how a mountain structure like that would look from the Eiffel Tower.

Whatever is added needs to hit the bang for the buck. I hope Cedar Fair is taking this process seriously. Sometimes, I'm not so certain they realized how important Volcano was to KD. Not to mention the countless times BGW added attractions and KD was not fazed by it because people enjoyed the coaster selection and fulfilment after waiting in line for Volcano. With that being said, I am going to post a link in this post with a fan made coaster creation.

S&S Air Launch Coaster

I would really enjoy something like this in Volcano's spot. There are many opportunities for the company to take advantage of the Volcano theme and pyrotechnics. Not to mention the amazing night ride effects that could be added to a ride like this. With all fairness, it would only make sense to replace a launch coaster, with a launch coaster that is much bigger. Please share thoughts.

I wouldn’t stress about it too much. @Mushroom mentioned this a while ago.
I was at a Q&A session with Bridgette this summer through one of ChamberRVA’s events. Someone asked her about a replacement for Volcano and she was predictably aloof about answering the question, but she made a point of noting that KD’s team and the corporate team have made it their priority to ensure that the replacement project is a worthy spiritual successor to Volcano. She said she arrived at KD after Volcano was removed, so she’s been struck by how people talk about the coaster and how important it seemed to people and to the park; she said she’s never known of any other ride that people talk about that way. Notably, Bridgette did not use the hand-wavy “We don’t have any plans for that space right now” line like Tony did back in 2019.

Obviously this doesn’t tell us much, but it tells us that A) Some sort of Volcano replacement project is underway to some degree, and B) Bridgette along with the rest of KD and CF are aware of Volcano’s legacy and have stated a desire to make sure its replacement lives up to it.

That’s a killer layout. However, I think what stands in its way is that I’m unsure of how CF views this type of coaster. Sure this could be part of a package deal with Tumbili but I don’t know if the company would risk dealing with the types of issues that Paramount had to with Hypersonic XLC. Additionally, Maxx Force reportedly cost $15 million, and that’s a short layout. So something like this would probably be around or above $20 million, especially with the inflation. I mean again, it could be a package deal, but I’m not sure.

B&M Pipeline

EDIT: To clarify I'm just speculating; I have no current information on what KD's plans maybe.
Hahaha thank you for noting. At the end of the day this is the "Ideal and Likely Ideas" thread. If Pipeline is a massive success for SeaWorld I wouldn't be surprised if Cedar Fair looks at Surf Coasters. I just hope not for Volcanos spot.

I’d like a surf coaster where shockwave was! That’d be cool!
