I'd want it to be more like Poseidon at Europa Park

At first I thought this looked weird, but then it ends up looking fun and maybe doesn't quite get you super soaked? Not a fan of water logged street clothes, but maybe this isn't that.

I don’t if it’s just me, but because volcano was such an iconic ride and damn near one of a kind…. I feel as if CF is going to have to work out some plan with some company and get a brand new and if not brand new then very close to brand new type of coaster. One that is themed extremely well with larger than life elements and thrill factor that goes beyond what we even experienced from KD. I dont fell as if a Mack Water coaster would fulfill the void or at least help heal the void that was left when volcano was removed.

I don't see that as a need - it doesn't need to be the first if it's kind, it just has to be really fun, safe, and reliable... Preferably with relatively low operating and maintenance costs, and I'm guessing limited teething issues on it's debut year if they can help it - no prototypes like what Volcano or Hypersonic were.

Well I mean prior to volcano one of the rides was a flume ride… so a water coaster honestly feels like it would work pretty well. Wouldn’t be too hard to get a decent theme. Would add a new water ride and coaster in one addition.

Not to mention I don't think there's a water coaster in the Mid-Atlantic ever since Hershey scrapped Roller Soaker (and even that was a roller coaster with water, and not the same as the water coaster that is a true roller coaster with splash sections, and not a waterslide that goes uphill)

Yeah, I don't think they're too concerned with the legacy of Volcano as much as they are with adding something fun and reliable that fits into Jungle Xpedition
I think you can honor the legacy of Volcano without having to do a 1 off coaster model.

I think whatever new ride you pick to put in there you can do a story line of going into the temple of the fire god who angers when they learn that the incoming explorers are the same that lead to the destruction of their child, the volcano of Doswell VA. The ride is the fire god in the temple exacting their revenge on the explorers who lead to the destruction of their child.

I'm not super great at crafting stories in ride, but the opening up of the ride could be the god trying to be reasonable yet exacting revenge, someone disturbs a sacred idol of the power of the fire god that can destroy the world, and the post launch part is the god doing everything they can to take back the idol of fire, which ends (in the splashdown) of the extinguishing of the fire.

I see

aight that would be pretty damn cool

The ongoing rumor is Tumbili is a filler ride to holdover guests until the old Volcano plot sees a big coaster. It geographically replaced Crypt. But what if…Tumbili is the Volcano replacement as a coaster while the geographical Volcano replacement is a flat ride package or some other non-coaster experience I wouldn’t be against that, but I shudder to think what the other fans would say.

The water coaster idea is very interesting and would be a great fit considering there’s only two Mack water coasters in North America (Seaworld’s JTA rides).

I think if that was the case, all of the good will they've built up by focusing on guest experience and dining will go out the window and Cedar Fair will be as reviled as Dan Snyder.

The only way I could see a flat ride package being accepted as Volcano's replacement is if the Lost Mountain structure was rebuilt with it, and they get the theming dead-on. EDIT: Nope, it'd be seen as cheaping out. Unless there is a dark/tracked ride of some sort, it will never be an acceptable replacement for Volcano (or the Lost World).

I have to agree with @SLC Headache on the flat ride expansion. They would have to knock the theming out of the park to make up for Volcano. A highly themed coaster makes the most sense. I would imagine most everybody thinks a coaster of sorts to replace volcano is one of the only things to replace it.

I almost fear we will end up with a Copperhead Strike like clone where the launch is jumble rather than moonshine themed.

Fear? I would have 0 qualms with a Mack launch going in in Volcanos spot. I would prefer it to be larger scale than Copperhead and definitely not a clone but that is definitely not a ride model I fear about going in anywhere at KD. I love Copperhead.

Interesting. I found CHS kinda boring and forceless and it crawled it’s way through on my ride.

While I found Copperhead Strike's pacing rather laid-back for a multi-launch coaster (and what thoosies say about Mack launches is true, they are very mild compared to other manufacturers), I felt it was plenty forceful and steadily paced. Or maybe I was going on a hot day and slightly exhausted.

I don’t disagree the rides pacing dies off in the back half when it kinda meanders a bit. I’d still rather ride Copperhead Strike than pretty much everything at KD except I305 and Twisted Timbers.

This is what Copperhead Strike proved to me about Mack:
-their airtime hills hit like an RMC at least Copperheads did
-they aren’t afraid of aggressive transitions by any means
-the seats make the ride very comfortable and re-ridable.
-I wouldn’t be surprised if Mack figured out like the between Intamin/RMC sweet spot where the ride is very GP friendly but also very enjoyable for thoosies.

Also yes I agree the launch is weak but I didn’t think about it much once I got to the loop and was hanging upside down for like 3 seconds straight.

As far I can tell the GP like i305, and they loved Volcano which had pretty aggressive launches. So what exactly does "GP-friendly" mean here?

I will be pretty disappointed if they add a launch coaster with weak launches in place of Volcano. If it's going to have launches, they need to be aggressive.
