But are they loosing mass? That would be kind of cool. It would suggest that there was either:
a. a significant conversion to energy and release there of
b. the park is approaching C. Interesting because that would suggest it is moving!

I'm hoping since it's the 40th will see some homage to the previous years  of HOS. Would I expect a version of the Haunted Railway to return? No. Could I expect something like a return of a house? 100% Yes. Just saying, a modified Dark Tower would be a great replacement for 13.

It's the park's 40th, not HOS' so I highly doubt we'll get any acknowledgement about the event.

I think the Wild Reserve needs to be more utilized. It's one of the darkest areas in the park, is always heavily decorated, and hasn't been staffed for the past couple of years! The sound from Demon Street doesn't actually carry into it very far, so the stifling silence is a very practical tool to use. Use some fog, strobes, and speakers to make a thunderstorm effect, and ghillie/werewolves for the occasional jump scare. Simple stuff that wouldn't cost them much at all since they already have the props.

In addition to the safety issues mentioned downthread for visitors getting scared on those steep hills, an issue in the past was that there's no back area cut through for Wild Reserve so when an employee gets assaulted they have no way to quickly reach security. (And I do mean assaulted -- gillie suits always get accidentally stepped on/kicked, but in 2009 at least, Wild Reserve scare actors were getting intentionally punched, shoved over fences, stuff way out of control.)

I think it would be cool to take advantage of the wolf haven right there, and the deeper tree pathways, and have a few scare actors who stay well clear of the path to be werewolves. Rustling bushes, glowing eyes, howling noises that start in one part and spread to another . . . maybe even pull a little from Wendigo Woods and have a person dressed in bloody zoological dept uniform that's looking for their co-worker who got bit by one of the wolves.

No one can refute the fact scare actors get assaulted frequently. However, they could just position a security officer right there along the pathway like they do for all the other Terror-tories. It may not reduce the amount of assaults or it may, but you would still have someone there relatively close by if you needed them.

I'm sorry, but I don't think a security guard standing there alone will make any difference. However, I think you are on the right track. In my opinion, the park needs to specifically recruit calm, but potentially intimidating security guards in all "high risk" zones. Tampa even lets them stand on some scare zone props. Believe me, they don't even say anything, but people tend to be less likely to do anything dangerous when they see them ever on the alert.

It gives the park, and the security department, a better image overall. Security does more than most people think during Howl-O-Scream, but the park needs to work on getting that message across to their guests in a friendly manner.

I have seen a pattern of authoritarian personalities among BGW security. In other words, I think there is a noticeable number of bullies on staff.

I'm not making a case for more or less of them; I am merely pointing out a pattern that I find disturbing. I am not a fan of BGW security at all.

Luke's case is merely one example of a problematic trend.

Guys that are nice usually are the ones getting their asses kicked by jerks. Doesn't work out too well for the security team to be on the losing end of the fight. I'm not justifying their behavior toward nice people, I'm just pointing out that it takes a hardass to deal with a hardass. It's the nature of their business.
