I'm hoping since it's the 40th will see some homage to the previous years of HOS. Would I expect a version of the Haunted Railway to return? No. Could I expect something like a return of a house? 100% Yes. Just saying, a modified Dark Tower would be a great replacement for 13.

13: Your Number's Up was supposed to be the park bringing back the Dark Tower modified to some extent for the event's 13th anniversary.

I would love them to bring back Cavern of Darkness. It was so much better themed. I just don't see too many things from the past coming to light especially considering they didn't do a lot for the 13th which for a Halloween event is supposed to be a big thing.

We will probably see another terror-tory or revised terror-tory.

I wish everyone would ditch all the 'bring back the haunted railway' talk. It was a mediocre attraction at best that required way too many people and used up the park's best form of transportation in the process.

BGW will build two tributes to DF before you ever see it come back.

As much as I loved Caverns of Darkness, some of the scenes were just plain darkness and caverns. :p The concept was great as I think it might be the only house that his dipped into mythology and I would love to see the park try it again. I seriously think 2015 will be the year 13 goes. I'm really interested to see what replaces this since they have to work with the cavern theming for the second half of the house. Maybe a journey through the Nether World where you meet Shamus. Now that would be quite possibly one of the best ways to pay homage to a show in a twisted halloween way.

Since CTC is just a junkyard of old decor, why not make it into "Lost Souls"
Where all the previous mazes, rides, shows, etc. are sent to, where they all become twisted? A fire breathing dragon animatronic for Drachen Fire, the pirate market square section could be an homage to BBW, A room of knights and medieval stuff for Hastings, An old antique car scare(wher eit looks like its gonna hit you) for Le Manns Raceway, etc. There is an infinite amount of things you could do!

Okay. I'm seeing a lot of "I hope BGW brings back, x, y, z for their 40th anniversary!" posts on here, and I think something needs to be clarified.

Everyone needs to remember that Kings Dominion's marketing approach, a heavily retro, "blast from the past" campaign where many beloved aspects of the parks made a return, is virtually unheard of in the industry. A park's anniversary celebration has never brought the changes that Kings Dominion saw last season. I think the close proximity of KD's and BGW's anniversaries has people thinking that because KD brought back some of their past icons, BGW will do the same thing.

To think that BGW will celebrate their anniversary just as KD did is an unfair and unrealistic expectation. Perhaps we will see some glimpses at BGW's past, but the celebration will probably be much more like Seaworld's celebration, not KD's. KD's campaign was and is extremely rare in the theme park industry. It will save a lot of disappointment if you don't linger on the notion that BGW will, too, take a trip back to the park of yore for the 2015 season.

While I'm not expecting any huge throwback like Kings Dominion did, I'm also not expecting nothing. Very little information has been released about the celebration other than a slide on the BGW website and the main portions of the event will happen in May. Carl said that everything would be announced sometime in March along with Tempesto. Not to sound like a mod, back on topic! :) If Scott was truly let go, would that mean a new VP of entertainment would hold the reigns of enterainment for HOS or would Phil take over on short notice knowing that HOS is kind of his thing?

They would hire a new Vice President who would take control over the department. However, who ever does replace him would definitely consult other people within the department.

I think the reason people want the park to bring back stuff is because they just really like that stuff. I think it should be said that we already know the park has worked very hard to change it's overall image and brand identity. They show no signs of wanting to acknowledge their past. That said, I'm sure they will make a few mentions of their past in some way, maybe a few lines in a speech, some pictures, but that is just about it.

Isnt saying what we wish to see one of the many reasons this forum exists? So fans of the parks can communicate with one another about their favorite and least favorite things from Busch Gardens past, present, and future?

The other half is dedicated to top notch sarcasm and cynicism that leaves local papers printing the sarcasm (i.e Julius Caesar). ;)

I was looking at the park calendar today and noticed that BGW will be open Halloween weekend. HOS usually ends the last weekend before Halloween. Has BGW decided to extend the HOS schedule or am I reading too much into it?

They haven't really added operating days. Howl-o-Scream starts a weekend later. It is the same amount of weekends, just slightly extended hour.
