I'm not a weather man, but I looked at the map on the weather channel and didn't see rain anywhere in sight..

When we were there in the rain in September the biggest problem was that the scare actors couldn't stay outside, so the Terror-tories weren't staffed.

It was, of course, great for crowds.

Your welcome.

Also just throwing this out there but why is the park trying to pass off a Goblin head for a vampire?

If I'm thinking of the same thing that you are, there is one vampire always out who looks like a Buffy the Vampire Slayer vampire to me.

Not sure if that is intentional but I get a kick out of it everytime I see it.

In one sentence, in my experience, this year's Howl-O-Scream continues the steady decline of scares I've come to expect out of the event.

You're talking about the terror-tories right? Because truthfully those scares were in-effective in my opinion. All it did was make the crowds go slower on the paths. And plus the actors on the paths thought it was funny to make teenage girls who really didn't want to be scared sprint through the crowd because they didn't want to be scared, and not only that, but the actors would chase them too. I didn't see it just once, but multiple times, and one time the scare actor ran into the girl he was chasing. So I could care less really, I would much rather have scare zones.

Agreed ^ I walked through every maze tonight bored. The actors must have been curled up in a corner somewhere sleeping

Thanks Zachary. I'll be there next weekend. I hope the scare actors will be out in full force.

I've heard mixed reviews about this year's HOS. Some loved it, some hated it. I'll have to see for myself.

It's called Howl O Scream for a reason. If you don't wanna get scared, don't go. I've seen this happen all the time in years past and I personally think its funny. Last year, I got stuck behind a group of teenage girls that were terrified of clowns. A few of the actors caught on and chased her and her friends out of the park.

IMO HOS is definitely the best HOS I've ever done (started going in 2011). In years past, the event started off weak, but so far, the actors were pretty on-point. Scare zones (or whatever the park wants to call them) and mazes are both pretty consistent in terms of scares. They all definitely had missing elements early in the season, but it seems to have gotten better and better. It definitely shows in the crowd levels too with sellout Saturdays every weekend, not just weekends in October and Friday/Sunday getting heavier crowds than normal. Past few weekends I hung out at the park, I managed to see pretty decent waits during the height of the event. The park must be doing something right if this keeps happening.

^ Exactly. If you don't like being scared, don't go. That is one of the things that I enjoyed about going to haunted houses is watching people's reactions. If I were working HOS, I would go after you too.

Because of the weather, the park was fairly "dead" compared to previous weekends. I saw no lines of note for any houses (didn't go by Root). I can only imagine being a bored scare actor inside waiting for a group, or anyone to come through. I was told the numbers were very low for the park last night. I wonder how many employees were sent home.

Ripper Row was extremely entertaining again. This place has given me more laughs (and a few scares) than any place in the park. Always a pleasure to fill up on some Barq's, grab a table, interact with some performers, and enjoy the show. :)
