So, is the weather report accurate? Increasing chance of thunderstorms down there tonight? Do storms affect the mazes?

I am hoping this will reduce the crowds, regardless.

According to my phone, it starts out as a 30% chance around 1 pm and increases to a 70% chance by 10 pm. If it's just raining, the mazes will remain open. Now if it's t'storms, I believe they'll be shut down with everything else.

It will probably reduce the crowds a little bit, and if it starts raining a lot of people will leave

I realized when I checking the forecast this morning that I have never been to HOS in the rain.

Anyway, that is what I saw as well. I never fully trust the weather guessers, though.

Yeah as much as they're right, it might snow.

As long as it's not pouring down rain, a light rain makes the park a bit more eerie.

So, I know I am probably letting he team down here, but I had a great time last night at HOS. I could have lived without the torrential downpour and inch-deep puddles as I was leaving the park, but overall, I really loved HOS.

I am confident other events are scarier, and if that is your primary interest, I can see where HOS might fall short. But I liked the entire gestalt. Everywhere I went, I found something I enjoyed. I was just happy all night. I got to scream in the mazes, run from the actors, go on the rides, meet people, and admire some great decor. I even found stuff to buy. The Keep Calm and Run shirt is brilliant.

I really recommend the view of France from the top of the first hill on Griffon.

I want to go back and spend more time in Ports. We didn't get the full feel, because of the rain, but as I said elsewhere, the area was just cool.

Anyway, just the opinion of the Forum Cheerleader.

How was it for you guys that went yesterday I heard you may of got some weather hopefully not to bad, but I kept getting severe weather alerts for the burg even in Orlando

The only problem from a HOS point of view (as far as I could tell) was that eventually the rain got heavy enough that the scare actors has to go inside. It was pretty much a steady, soaking drizzle most of the night, so it was perfect in terms of crowds. There was virtually no line at Griffon, when we road it. But no thunder/ lightening, so I never saw anything close.

The rain started falling in buckets, right as we left the park, though. I have never gotten that wet even on a water ride before. I think my shoes and jeans are still damp. The England Lot lot had a solid inch-deep puddle. Totally insane. And there were rivers running through Banbury Cross.

But the rain didn't affect how much fun we had!

I'm just over the whole "Keep Calm and..." oeuvre.

I can see that. But the Run bit was so Doctor Who as well. It seemed to combine two different Brit memes.

Edit: also, it is way more ironic than Keep Calm and Drink Tea or Keep Calm and Carry on Shopping, etc

How were the crowds?

Not nearly as bad as previous years's Saturdays.

Sorry. That wasn't very helpful was it?

We had QQs, so I really didn't see most of the lines. It didn't feel as crowded, until the end of the night stampede to the gate. I did notice that there were virtually no lines for Griffon and Apollo's Chariot. In fact we didn't use the QQ at AC, so we could get in the back seat. The Verbolten loading area seemed as full as ever, but I didn't notice the line. Blood Banquet wasn't full either.

Also, the sales lady in one of the shops in Port complained to us that the rain drove the crowds away and the actors inside, making her night fairly tedious.

Rain or the fact it is still September or both?
