It is no different then the regular buffet; Pizza, pasta & desserts. Just some pirate costumes and signage. Unworthy of further discussion in a separate thread. :p

Alrighty. I might have to try the Blood Banquet then. Although sparkly vampires creep me out more the usual kind.

Nic my suggestion would be to talk to your daughter and explain to her that its all pretend and its a fun thing as opposed to a bad thing. Show her people coming out at the end of a house laughing....then you say see nothing happened to those people they all had fun. Just some thoughts.
Good luck. I hope she has fun.

I think maybe you misunderstood my question. I guess I wasn't clear.

Phia has been to HOS before and has been through one of the mazes. The last time, she was fine, but it was a bit too much for her and she decided she didn't want to do any more houses.

It has been a few years and in the interim she has displayed a love of great coasters and scary shows. She loves the Weeping Angels. I *think* she is ready for the mazes, but I am NOT that parent who is willing to annoy everyone else with a terrified or unhappy child. She can attend an adult event, if and only if she can behave like an adult. I have the same rules for restaurants, museums, etc. If we are public, she does not get to act as if she is on the playground.

I want to test her current tolerance with as Zach put it "a starter maze." I am confident that she won't cry or be an annoyance to anyone around us, but I'm just not sure if she will have fun.

Hope that is clearer?

Ahhh ok I got ya...I totally agree about being an annoyance. Well, hopefully she will have fun and become "hooked" like my kids have. We are going next weekend and my kids have been talking about it for a month now. They get so pumped for Howl O Scream.

Thanks!

Phia started asking back in August. I really hope she loves it too!

I would consider Cutback Cove the least scariest.

Who thinks of pirates and says, "Yeah! They'll scare lots of people with their chickens, dirty laundry, and piratical accents! Let's do that." :dodgy:

It was definitely the least scariest maze.

There was a stage manager type hanging around with a bunch of orange wristbands, but I didn't ever see her do anything with them.

Tonight was enjoyable. Here are my complaints though :p

I am sick to death of all this rock music being played throughout the park. Is this HOS, or Farm Bureau Live in VA Beach? It may have changed as the night went on, but while I was walking through the "line" of Bitten, they were playing what sounded like ball music. Where is the old music?

The longer I stood and watched the DJ, I just despised it more and more. This is an AMUSEMENT PARK, I don't want to see a bunch of grinding and twerking at Busch Gardens.

Overall though I had a good night, the crowds were low and it seemed like they added more fog throughout the park. The haunted houses were pretty good. Have scare actors been hired for Cut Throat Cove and Deadline?

In regards to scares, I'd forget the mazes and instead do the scare zones instead. If your child can handle those, then the mazes shouldn't be a huge issue. The actors actually do a great job of scaring in those areas and they're pretty much unavoidable.

Music-wise, the park only plays rock music in two areas (Ireland with classic rock and Oktoberfest but they always jam rock in that area during HOS anyway). They play electronic in Aquitaine but that's because it's supposed to be a demon rave. Everything else pretty much fits the theme.

The park also finally brought out more fog machines. Yay!
