There are eight days left until Howl-O-Scream begins. What is everyone doing to prepare for their adventures at Busch Gardens Williamsburg?

Group question: Aside from Nevermore and the upcoming Scary Tale Road, have there been other instances of Howl-O-Scream featuring attractions based on classic folklore/literature throughout the history of the event?

Going back and figuring out every HOS attraction since 1999 that has been based on specific works of literature (vice classic monsters that can be found in stories and myths) would be a time-consuming undertaking.

Possible ideas for props that might be used for Scary Tale Road: Sleeping Beauty's bed, the Wicked Witch's gingerbread house, the three houses of the Three Little Pigs, Rapunzel's tower, Snow White's glass coffin, Cinderella's pumpkin carriage, and Rumplestiltskin's spinning wheel

You’ve already posted about past folklore/fairy tale/literature themed HOS attractions multiple times, so why are you asking a question you already know the answer to?

My apologies. Sometimes I get carried away. I am actually autistic. I am super into stuff I love, I am often repetitive, and I literally cannot tell when I am being annoying. Trust me. It happens.

Does Howl-O-Scream offer pumpkin spice food/drinks/perfume? I know that some folks during Halloween love pumpkin-flavored everything. I know how pumpkin pie tastes. It's okay. I've never had pumpkin juice.

I don’t recall any pumpkin or pumpkin spice stuff recently at HOS. Honestly, they have dramatically dialed back their specialty food (sadly).

Im not actually a fan of the pumpkin juice at Universal Studios in the Wizarding World.

I think it would be really awesome if Ripper Row includes Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett this year. (Please note: These characters are public domain. The Broadway musical is copyrighted)

As long as the general public is given some kind of backstory to know who these characters are - Jack the Ripper has had a long presence in folklore, but I'm not sure the average guest is going to know the Demon Barber of Fleet Street...

I don’t think general familiarity has ever been or should be a metric for which stories and characters they use. Honestly, how many people knew what a wendigo was, before BGW used it? And how many people know all of Poe’s works?

I kinda like Sweeney Todd as a theme for a new house, actually.

I’m late posting this, but in reference to the post about Ripper Row:
Sweeney Todd and Jack the Ripper were both in Wicked Woods: Ripper Row in 2008. Busch Gardens Tampa also had a maze called Ripper Row that was a tribute to both characters. What made the BGW terror-tory different was the fact that pretty much any character (or even all of them) could be the Ripper and you don’t know who to trust. For all we know, Sweeney Todd, Mrs. Lovett and Jack could all be running amuck, causing mayhem. All the officers seem convinced that there is only one Ripper, but they could be wrong, or one of the officers themselves might be the Ripper.

Therefore, I think the theme of not knowing who (if anyone) is trustworthy is probably why those characters don’t have as many references as previous attractions with the Ripper Row monicker. I guess they could always change the story to something more specific if they wanted to add those characters, though. It might be a cool way to switch things up.
