I am cautiously very excited about Death Water Bayou coming to Williamsburg. I had an extremely strong hunch that this would happen sooner or later, especially after they brought an iteration of this maze to SeaWorld San Diego. That said, Nevermore is another maze that started in Tampa, but the Williamsburg version of it was nowhere close to the quality of the Tampa original. Tampa’s Nevermore was tied with the first season of DWB as my favorite house I’ve ever been through. Hopefully the one in Williamsburg was only so comparatively lackluster because they knew it would only last one season in that building.

On a more positive note, I guess it’s possible that the park chose to work with the team behind Killarney Diner, in which case I would expect the quality to be more comparable to something out of Tampa. I have heard that Killarney Diner was the only outsourced maze last year, though I haven’t done any more digging for info or verification.

I guess Inferno will be in Pompeii, DWB in Festa field, and Nevermore (chapter 2) in Drachen Fire's station building?

Also, I request that for the rest of the season, the new Nevermore (chapter 2) maze be referred to exclusively as Nevermore (chapter 2) in full, as we do not want to confuse it with Nevermore.

This is my assumption too. Nevermore props were outside of Drachen Fire's station so that seems like a solid indicator. Inferno thematically matches Pompeii. That leaves Death Water Williamsburg for Festa it seems.

I edited my Howl-O-Scream house leak draft and published it. Not worth a ton now I guess, but at least you can share a more authoritative link with your friends? 🤷‍♂️

a while ago I made a concept of a maze called Inferno that was a nightclub version of Dante’s Inferno.

I had been pitching nevermore as a concept for a house for years. I wonder if my concept will come to life again!

I think a voodoo swamp house will fit the circo location well and will be a fun one. Inferno is one I am optimistic just because of the possibilities

Website dropped: https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/events/howl-o-scream/

Houses: Inferno, Death Water Bayou, Nevermore Chapter 2, Witch of the Woods, and KILLarney Diner

Terrortories: Dead A-head (France), Gorgon Gardens (Italy), Scary Tale Road (Rhinefeld), Meat Market (New France), Ripper Row (England), and the hack pack

Shows: Jack is Back, Phantoms, Skeletones, and Monster Stomp on Ripper Row (opens Sept 29)

Experiences: Party zones in France and Festa, Bars in Italy, New France, England, Ireland, and two in Oktoberfest, Zombeats is back, and picture ops with Jack and the Game Show Host (new character that seems pretty interesting)

Notice no escape rooms as far as I can tell, and the no boo necklaces are making a return. Overall excited we are getting an extra terrortory than we expected with three new ones. Sucks the shows are unchanged but at least most of them are appealing, and I know what times to avoid the Festhaus now. Mainly excited to see these new terrortories, as I have always loved having one in France.

New mascot this year. Not a lot of information on the website and I don't know how he(?)'s connected to one of the houses or scarezones.
It is also not a shared mascot with another park in the chain, as far as I can tell, but the other parks have not fully revealed their line ups so the websites might change further.

"In this ghoulish game show, every guest is a contestant, led to their destiny by the master of scare-monies. Your fate awaits with five haunted houses, five terror-tories™, four sinister shows, two party zones and unsuspecting scares awaiting their victims at every turn."

I don't see a name, I guess "The Host" will work.

BGT is gonna have the same icon as well.

This looks like a much needed programming update to HOS. I'm even more excited for this event now. I still think the park needs that sixth house they've had before, but I can't complain with three new houses, with the other two still being pretty fresh. I'm so glad to see the circus house leave Italy; it was never any good aside from the one bungee actor. The new scare zones in France and Germany sound like they have a lot of potential for their areas. I'd still really like to see a return to a Fiends style show in the Abbey Stone, as Jack is Back doesn't provide the same type of experience. Especially prior to the opening of Monster Stomp, the event will lack a legitimate show. Overall, though, I think the theming for the event sounds really good. The party zones sound like they could be kitschy fun or just not work at all, but I'm down to see the effort. Looking forward to checking this out.

Looks like a great lineup! But I’m going to carry the long time tradition of criticizing the park.

Why does the park love to make cool and interesting icons and then nit use them fully?

An evil ventriloquist? Just an escape room.

Cursed monster? One character roaming

Game show host? Photo op. At least the witch has a house and Jack has a show….

I’m all for the guillotine scare zone. More historically-based horror, please.

I was excited too… until I read that they’re going to have a DJ in France. Super bummed they’re putting the party zone right in the same area.

On the other hand, I love the idea of a statue themed scare zone for Italy. That’ll fit the area beautifully.
