RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Reading through the comments, I just want to remind people of two things:

1. There has never been a one-to-one relationship between the Houses and Terrortories; and

2. I don't believe we have seen evidence one way or another about how the park wants to do path scares in the future.

If they do use Darkastle as a new house, I wonder if they would utilize the projection screens.  It could be a 3-D maze.

It would be such a shame to NOT use them! I'm wondering if they will actually remove the track from the floor? Perhaps it's sunken into the floor and can be easily covered?

So I have a couple thoughts about this big new thing, both coming from Tampa.

1) Solo upcharge house.
2) A maze where you're given a gun and shoot zombies/monsters for points.

The track has maybe a 3 inch gap off the floor. I don't think they would remove the track, because there are so many electrical components involved, since its not a traditional ride track. Instead, it's more of a guideline.

I have been hearing that the park plans on using the building itself for a maze, although I'm not entirely sure if this means the ride area, or backstage. Although I have heard that they plan on closing the ride as well, this doesn't give much more of a hint as to where they plan to put it. Apparently there is still some room left in the backstage area is for them to do something similar to what they do with Escape From Pompeii. There were strong rumors of a Curse of DarKastle maze located where Bitten was dating back to 2005. I just wonder why they were thinking of using Bitten's location rather than Curse of DarKastle itself. I wonder if they would have had to close the ride down, and if that is why they chose to move it to another building, later choosing to cancel it altogether.

I don't know much about the original plans for a Curse of DarKastle maze, but I wonder if we will finally get to see some of those old rumors come into fruition.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Kind of sad that after they teased a FBlive event today but then didn't follow through on it.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

I don't see/hear anything on their Live stream, does the park know how to use this thing?

It's at 10pm. So it hasn't happened yet.

Link to the recorded livestream, here.

Anyway, some Frostbite facts from the video:
  • Not themed to DarKastle―instead themed to "cold with teeth" (hence the name)
  • Will use the ride's track area as its path―there will be no platform build (!!!)
  • Will integrate DarKastle's existing scenic
  • Suggested the use of DarKastle's screens

Needless to say, this might be the most intriguing house ever. The level of difficulty this space presents to a house designer seems... downright unparalleled.

Finally, can I bask in this for a moment?

About two weeks or so ago I posted this:

A little birdie has reported that Bitten will not return this year. Expect a new house in this area of the park for 2017.

Note that I didn't say a new house should be expected to take Bitten's place (I don't want to comment one way or the other on that issue just yet). I did, however, confirm that a new house would be making its debut in this area of the park (Oktoberfest).

Why that very specific wording? I've been told over and over again now that there will be a house located inside DarKastle this year. Either there is an impressively potent plague of misinformation inside the park right now, or we will have a very interesting new house for 2017.

This was quite honestly the most difficult rumor I've ever had to wrangle.

And on that note, HUGE thanks to all the many sources that came out of the woodwork to give me the little nuggets of info that suggested this was happening. No way I could have corroborated the story without each and every one of you!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Any thoughts about the bitten house ? Will it be used at all ? I been wondering about the unearthed house and how it occupies Europe in the air building and how that might be affected by the new virtual reality ride ? Honestly the bitten house looks like a real house but seems too difficult to move or change to accommodate if that were to happen ?
