AN ALL-NEW WILLIAMSBURG ESCAPE ROOM EXPERIENCE

The clock is ticking, and there’s only one way out. Do you and your friends have what it takes to solve the clues and save the day before it’s too late? Will you master No Escape and claim victory with your friends or will you be defeated?
Experience all of the fun and adventure of an “escape room” experience, with a unique Busch Gardens® Howl-O-Scream® twist. In this physical adventure game, you and five others are locked in a room and must use clues to solve puzzles and try to escape before time runs out. This is a scary event, so beware; other things might be lurking in the way of solving the puzzle.
Choose between two No Escape adventures:

Experience Busch Gardens® Williamsburg's first escape room: No Escape, Case of Mr. Karver

CASE OF MR. KARVER

Mr. Karver’s dolls want to play. The puppet master has created new works of art for his evil encore, and it’s up to you to stop his evil machinations from becoming reality. Searching for clues, you will try to uncover the location of his secret workshop and, if found, attempt to stop him from making any more of his monstrous dolls.

Experience Busch Gardens® Williamsburg's first escape room: No Escape, Case of Jack the Ripper

CASE OF JACK THE RIPPER

Jack is back and he puts the cape in No Escape. You have heard the tales, now join the yard as you investigate the grisly murders of Jack the Ripper. Guests will be part of the experience as they attempt to solve the riddles before it is too late to catch happy Jack red-handed.
After successfully mastering No Escape, you will receive a complimentary photo to brag to your friends. Don’t worry, if you aren’t successful, you will still receive a complimentary photo of your experience.

Prices for both rooms are $30 (I believe that is per person, but not completely sure) before 4 PM and $40 after 4 PM. There is a 16 year old age limit.

STARFRIGHT ORCHESTRA

The Starfright Orchestra™ is back together, and has resurrected its popular music for
Howl-O-Scream®. Guests at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg may recognize the ghostly musicians on the stage of Italy’s il Teatro Di San Marco this fall.

The 12-piece swing band, featuring male and female lead singers, returns to Busch Gardens after an eight-year hiatus. The show will feature a familiar song list with popular spooky hits like, “I Put a Spell on You,” and “Monster Mash.”

Many members of the original band are returning, making for a nostalgic reunion tour. The shows will run five times every Saturday during Howl-O-Scream.

Very interesting to see them emphasize the fact that the band will be returning members.
Do you know if you will be able to do individual rooms? if so how much will that be?

I was reading the fine print, I wonder what the waivers are for? And what is the special Busch Gardens HOS twist their adding?

These escape rooms always have a waiver for you to sign. Basically saying if you're a dummy and hurt yourself trying to solve some clues or if one of the other participants hurts you then BG is not liable. They sometimes include language that says they can use your image for promotional purposes as well.

There is a new video. "Legends of Howl-O-Scream: From the Journal of Dr. Dhampir"

Honestly, I preferred the first video. A while a go I wrote something about what I don't want to see in future videos. They do exactly what I didn't want to see. Also, it seems misleading that they use a thumbnail from the part of the house that was recycled from Masquerage.

[...]What I don't want to see is what Tampa did last year with some of their videos. They literally had people speaking in front of a camera about terrible experiences that they had in each respective house all while sitting in that allegedly deadly house. [...]

If the house is so deadly, and they are in the house- why are they not dead?

Edit: I do prefer their read aloud account approach over Tampa's testimonies. Those were cringe-worthy.

I believe the person reading the journal might be a Vampire in disguise due to that sinister smile she had as she read the end of the journal entry.

Busch Gardens posted a "Scaredy Cat's Guide to Howl-O-Scream" on their website.

I really love the descriptions for each haunted house, especially Unearthed.

Unearthed™: Scarlett’s Revenge - Gory but there are not as many startling elements.

Cornered™ - More open, which makes it easier to see which scares are ahead of you.

Deadline - Very themed so there are lots of hidden aspects.

Lumberhack™ - Very open, but beware of loud noises and startles with chainsaws.

Bitten - Confined space; Scare Squad teams up on you! You never know when it’s coming.

Catacombs - There are scares from all angles so it’s a new experience every time you go.

Circo Sinistro - We’ve never been through it but our sources say it will be “from another world” of fright.

Yeah some of their advice was complete crap like the so called advice of hiding the scaredy cats in the middle of the group is useless, cause when I worked as a scare actor that was one of the things I looked for it made for easy scares. Though not all scare actors are like that for instance some of the guys I worked with liked the challenge of scaring the "tough guys".

Um just saw on tampas page zombie containment unit 15. Is that there equivalent to deadline?? It kinda looks like it

I'm glad to hear everyone else's reactions. I thought they were really going out of their way to be descriptive, all things considered. Where else would they admit where a house is lacking scare factor?

Also, I agree 100% with Hessian. I wonder if the writer really knows any scare actors. Sure, when I am a scare actor, I love going after the loud "squeamish girls" and people who hide in the back to build a better screaming atmosphere. However, that's only part of the fun, because the "easy scares" count less toward "scare points" in my book.

A much more experienced haunter than me encouraged actors to go right for the front and middle. It creates more disturbance. If anything, the back should be safest when the scares are obvious.

Then again, they could be pointing out a major flaw in the way their actors scare people. It's possible. On a positive note: I feel like the people who hold the most weight in the event this year each really enjoy being scared. This could be great news for thrill seekers.

I also thought they were kind of nice descriptions, at least in part. Unearthed, Cornered and Lumberhack matched up with my experience at least. I'm so bored of Bitten and Catacombs I can't even begin to remember what the scare factor was for me the first few times through, so I can't say. Deadline and Circo Sinistro's descriptions didn't really make sense though, in terms of letting me know how scary they are.

Overall I do think it's cool they are trying to steer more nervous guests towards the appropriate starter houses, they haven't done much of that since getting rid of the pumpkin rating system I think.

Forgive me if this was already discussed- I vaguely remember the consensus on here being that Cut Throat Cove was one of the best or the best starter house (for people just getting their toes wet with haunted houses) the last few years, so what do we think will take its place? If I was taking someone nervous about going into a house to the park I think maybe I'd recommend Deadline because its theme is cool but it's often understaffed so there are not that many scares.

I would agree that CTC was a great starter house. Without knowing what Circo Sinistro will be like, I would recommend either Unearthed or Deadline for people who are nervous about the scares. I found Unearthed to be even less staffed than Deadline last year. I guess it would also depend on how they handle gross out scares vs whatever Unearthed was supposed to be.

That said, the houses, in my experience, vary from year to year. So, both could be vastly improved/different this season. It seems like a bit of a gamble, unless you try them all first.

Deadline is much more immersive, for that reason I think that scarlet's revenge is a good starter house. For those scared of the dark, lumberhack is a good option.

I've just noticed that this could be the result of the discussion earlier in the year about how they dropped the rating system for the houses. It seems like they want to tell concerned parents which houses are more appropriate, without seeming like any of the houses are only half scary...

You know what, with all these clown sightings on the news about clowns being in the woods i wonder if people will complain about the clowns in sirco sinistro. Becsuse it would be too much for thier kids or they wont feel safe. Which means they would scrap certain elements. I hope it doesnt come to that lol
