I remember some of the decor in Curse of Pompeii being.... Really tacky...  Like they just glued a bunch of cheap toys to a wall...

I enjoy finding a rat on a ripper-row pathway post with a still-functioning squeaker and making a joke out of it. I've found them comical wherever they pop up.

To be clear, are you saying you play with the props?

I honestly think they should move Demon Street to Festa along with a demon themed house and put the clowns in Aquitaine. That way DS is totally avoidable.

Avoidable, unless you want to ride a fan favorite purple coaster.

I guess so, but not in a vandalizing or defacing manner. I walk up and squeeze maybe one or two of the rats and if I don't find one I just walk away.

You get that squeezing them adds to wear and tear and contributes to the sets looking run down and the park having to replace things sooner?

I remeber when they first got the rats in France. They were everywhere, and everyone squeezed them as they walked by. It is my understanding that the park had no problem with, or even expected people to squeeze the rats. Therefore I'd say that doing so is simply enjoying the park.

I mean by that logic, riding coasters causes wear and tear. I'd say that some thing are meant to be worn and it's up to the park to replace it.

I think we can all agree that is a ridiculous parallel.

Not touching props is the right policy. I don't think this is any different than walking through the planter in Verbolten's queue. Should someone get thrown out of the park or even reprimanded by the park for doing so? Probably not. Should people be doing it? No. Should we be setting a negative example for the other guests by doing it ourselves? Never.

One or two people doing it isn't going to make a difference. 10 or 20 people doing it will. No different than taking flowers or rocks or acorns or whatever else out of a national park. It seems like a minuscule offense when you do it, but the problem is that everyone else sees it that way too.

Well of course. The distinction lies in whether the park intends for the wear and tear to take place. Granted that the rats were in such a squeezable state to begin with, I would consider it not to be a problem. Whereas I do not support trampling over hedges as that is not in any way endorsed by the park.

This discussion has reached the point of being irrelevant. Can we not.

Considering the fact that in the entire scope of the event people messing with the props is a small minuscule aspect of it, I agree that people shouldn't mess with the props but is that going to happen anytime soon, well no. There is always going to be that one person who let's there curiosity get the best of them and decide to mess with something that shouldn't be messed with It's just a part of human nature. In the end it shouldn't happen but because the park can't manage it during these events it will so we shouldn't worry about it and move on, end of discussion. Lets get back to Howl O Scream people!

Yes, by all means, lets all close our eyes and ignore the people behaving badly. That has certainly never led things down the wrong path.

The fact is many people are selfish pigs and want to do what ever makes them happy at the moment no matter the long term consequences. This is not new, this is not generational, this is humanity. However we are supposed to be rational creatures. The better of us are supposed to be able to let our better Angeles lead us. Sadly many don't.
