Did someone in this thread propose a family event?

Please no. Kids have Holloween to trick or treat. Kids are more concerned about the candy aspect of the holiday. Let the adults have their fun.

I completely disagree. I think the better approach is, instead basically ignoring the kids, and at the same time removing the intensity that keeps them away, is to do what KD does and have a children's event during the day and an adult event at night. Both are entirely separate and the hope would be they wouldn't get in the way of each other.

See PK's thread.

I've said this many times! Doing family Halloween during the day a) helps families feel like they're not missing out on the HoS experience and thus keeps them from taking their curious kids to the "adult" event and b) clearly draws a line between "for kids" and "NOT for kids, seriously". I understand that currently the park is low on budget, but I don't understand why KIDsiderate Halloween hasn't been a park fixture for AGES.

Just my personal opinion here but I don't go to Howl O Scream to party I go for the scares/mazes. If the park were to go much more in the party direction I would stop coming. I don't have a problem with a couple extra bars popping up here and there but I'm not a big fan of the whole DJ dance party thing. To each their own but that's how I feel about it.

I prefer the mazes to my self, but I also like the party vibe to, as long as you keep the scare everything is good, I like HOS just as it is, you get the best of both worlds, it attracts 2 different crowds

To be fair, there's only one party spot in the park. I don't see where everyone's getting this whole "the park is turning into one giant party" vibe from. Is it all the bars? I'm sure alcohol has been a HOS fixture for a while now. Its only a matter of time that the park started expanding on the whole beer sales thing.

I still have a problem with all the alcohol carts in the maze lines though. Those need to go to cut down on the number of drunk people wandering around the park after 6.

It is a trademarked SWP&E term.

BGW's KIDsiderate page.

I think the introduction of large, outdoor bars contributes to that "vibe." Yes, there is only one dance party, but there are at least 2-3 drinking crowds elsewhere, as well. The loud, party atmosphere really does break up the scary feel of the event for some of us.

That is why I want them to either move the DJs and bars inside, or pick a direction: party or haunt.

There will be NO free refill Howl-o-Scream cups this year.

And your source is...?

You may find here that not everyone can provide sources all the time. You can either trust my information or just wait and realize it is what it is. You don't have to trust me if you don't want to.

Well you either read it online or heard it from someone who works at the park. It's a simple question. You don't have to get your panties in a bunch.

Demon Street is the most evident of the party areas, but there's more than that. Oktoberfest and Killarney are also focused on bars and parties. Ports of Skull is basically a photo op with (un)funny pirate s cracking puns. And of course the park has always sold alcohol at the event, but now it's like bars are a major attraction. They're in, like, half of the park's hamlets. And they're definitely not "scary" unless you take into account all the drunk people they create.

If that's not "party," I have absolutely no idea what it is.
