My question is this Zach, what if it fails, what will they resort to next? I would like them to try and improve them next year even if they fail this year, because better budgeting could happen.

The Terror...tories sound just like expanded scare zones to me. Kinda like Widowmakers in 2011. I just hope they're all as good as Widowmakers was.

- if they don't have chainsaws this year I won't be a happy camper

I imagine we'll see a return to 2009-style loosely marked scare zones- not to be mistaken for the highly structured versions we saw in 2011.

I had someone tell me last year that the reason we didn't see many chainsaws was because guests actually considered them to be too scary. I believe the same will carry over for this year- especially outside of the houses.

The chainsaws were around last year. They stood around the Scotland Ireland area. It was so much fun people watching right there. Even better when they were allowed to roam into England at closing time. Same with the bungee people.

Uuuuummm...Isn't there already going to be a problem moving through England without a bottleneck?

No, I think that dudes head is in a crate in another pic

I see it now. He just reminds me so much of him. That carriage is the same carriage that was over by Catacombs last year right?

What is a good time to get there on Saturday? In the past, I've always gone the first Friday the event was open but I had plans come up that day that I can't break. I'm just scared the park is going to close because of capacity on Saturday! What time should I shoot to get there?

Do you plan to do any non-HOS stuff like rides? And which HOS attractions are you planning to check out? Houses? Shows? Food?

I typically have to go on Saturdays, and planning in advance is critical, because of the crowds.

Well, I'm going with a friend on Saturday and then I'm going with family on Friday, so I figure whatever I don't do this week, I'll do then. I was hoping to get to the park around 2:00-2:30 and try to ride a few things until 4:30, when I could get in line for Festhaus since I'm sure that will be a long wait. If I can get dinner by 5:30, I can get in line for a house and go from there. My main thing is definitely terror-tories and houses. I'm not seeing any shows (unless Night Beats happens to be playing while I'm eating) and I'll only be riding rides before 6:00. Is 2-2:30 too late to get there?

I just saw an interesting picture about ripper row on Instagram. Can anyone go fetch it for me, I have no idea how to. If anyone could go get that, that would be great, thanks!

Since nothing HOS-y really starts until 6pm, you should be fine, I think. And my guess is that the Terror-tories won't be worthwhile until it is dark, so you really can focus on indoor houses until 7:30ish.

As you probably know, the lines can be brutal. That said one year I went on a Saturday and there were virtually no lines at all for a majority of the houses. Can't recall how close to Halloween I went that year. I've never been opening weekend, but from what I gather, it may be really bad.

Edit: You could have trouble getting Preferred Parking that late. Not sure if that matters, though?

Parking doesn't matter; I'm getting dropped off. I've never been on a Saturday, but then again, I've also never missed the first day. :( My brother is graduating from police academy on Friday though and I obviously can't miss that. I figure even if I only get to go in one or two houses, I'm going back in six days so it'll be okay.
