My question is this Zach, what if it fails, what will they resort to next? I would like them to try and improve them next year even if they fail this year, because better budgeting could happen.

More like, it'll make them feel more entitled to the walk space.Nic said:And maybe the lack of sidewalk space will encourage the stollers to leave before the HOS crowds arrive.

Do you plan to do any non-HOS stuff like rides? And which HOS attractions are you planning to check out? Houses? Shows? Food?
I typically have to go on Saturdays, and planning in advance is critical, because of the crowds.

I was hoping to get to the park around 2:00-2:30 and try to ride a few things until 4:30, when I could get in line for Festhaus since I'm sure that will be a long wait. If I can get dinner by 5:30, I can get in line for a house and go from there. My main thing is definitely terror-tories and houses. I'm not seeing any shows (unless Night Beats happens to be playing while I'm eating) and I'll only be riding rides before 6:00. Is 2-2:30 too late to get there?

Since nothing HOS-y really starts until 6pm, you should be fine, I think. And my guess is that the Terror-tories won't be worthwhile until it is dark, so you really can focus on indoor houses until 7:30ish.
As you probably know, the lines can be brutal. That said one year I went on a Saturday and there were virtually no lines at all for a majority of the houses. Can't recall how close to Halloween I went that year. I've never been opening weekend, but from what I gather, it may be really bad.
Edit: You could have trouble getting Preferred Parking that late. Not sure if that matters, though?
