It looks great! But it is old. So what! Try and enjoy it. Hopefully there will be plenty of new & refined shiny glittery props next year. We knew this was gonna be "thrown together at the last minute." I am looking forward to checking it out. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience. Will know in a few more days!! Some of us have been around a few years. Hopefully we are still useful in our old age. Especially the good 'uns! :p

Yes, we know this, but the general public does not. Remember, the park is claiming this year's Howl-O-Scream as the park's most impressively themed event ever. In fact, with the removal of path scares, they're choosing to bet the entire event on their ability to theme these Terror-tories which, frankly, look like garbage. We know why that is, but the reason doesn't matter- the fact is that the park is about to open what may be their most lackluster Howl-O-Scream yet to a general public that's already weary of the event after last year's bundle of disappointment. We can praise the park's concepts and original plans all we want, but we can't ignore the reality that they're heading towards a cliff come opening weekend.

I know that this is a little random but does anyone have proof that they will have clowns in 13? I was too scared of Fear Fair until the last day of HOS last year and now it's gone. I still want clowns!

To be fair, they say something to that effect every year, don't they? I'm not debating whether this year sux already or not. I will continue to have fun and look for beautiful and enjoyable things at the place I love. For stuff that is lackluster, I now have a means to bring this to the attention of some of those who make decisions and listen to some input over a drink and pleasant conversation. I have seen the beginnings of results of this already. It will take time, but I have high hopes for things turning out better. Stay optimistic!

Now bring on HOS!!

I believe that you can choose to have a good time or not, regardless of whether they are using old props and glitter or the best new theming on the East coast. At least 50% (if not more) of your experience is what you bring to the park, not what the park provides you.

All of the nit picking and hand wringing just puts you in a mental place to have a bad experience. At the end of the day it is all theater. I personally will suspend my disbelief and enjoy HOS.

And if the park kills everything that made the event fun before?

I have no reason to believe that "everything" I have enjoyed in the past is gone. Maybe I am wrong, but I have seen no evidence that the core of HOS has been destroyed. I liked most of the houses last year. Y'all keep complaining that they are mostly the same, so I expect to enjoy them again.

Even if it isn't up to past standards, it can still be fun. And once again, I will not know that it isn't as much fun as in the past, until I am actually there.

I am fairly certain from reading y'all's posts that I enjoy different aspects of the park than many of you, anyway.

Honestly, I can have fun with my friends, regardless of where I am, so I seriously doubt I will have a bad time. I refuse to be a passive participant in my life.

Is it true you can bring a friend for free if you have a season's pass?

Yes. For this weekend only. Log into the pass member site and look at the bottom of the page for special offers.

Whoah!! Wait a minute folks!! Who said CK was in charge of HOS decorations? Direct those comments to the appropriate person please. And don't forget...sarcasm folks...sarcasm. :p

I didn't mean to snap at you but glittery halloween decorations drives me nuts. :s

I'm not happy with what I saw at the park over the weekend. I'm not going to say that HOS will be a total failure this year. I'm holding out for feedback when it starts hoping that it will get better.

It's honestly very hard to get excited about the event. The shows won't be as good, there won't be as many actors, and we've already confirmed that the big new thing will be a disaster. Will I stay for the night? Sure. Could I have some laughs? Sure. Ultimately, my mind is going to be noticing on what the park messed up and remembering the years where the park actually did a good job. My friends are going to be doing the exact same thing.

Last year when we went there was a QQ pass just for the haunted houses. It wasn't on the site but you could get it at the park. Does anyone know if they are going to be doing that again this year and how much? I can't remember how much it was last year.

Everyone has differing opinions. Maybe they jive with yours, maybe they don't. The best feedback will be your own. I hope you have fun. And if not, you can vote with your checkbook, right?

Yup, and KD is seeing that checkbook a bit more this year.

Since no one else has answered...

I'm not sure about a house-only QQ, but regular HOS QQ (that include some rides, as well) are available on the HOS website.

I guess you can call and ask about the others?
