RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

Okay, I've tried to keep myself from getting sucked into this conversation, but it's really getting out of hand. Look through the later portion of this HOS thread, and what do you see? Pages upon pages of... what? A DJ. Seriously. I've gotta say, that's crazy. Seriously, such a huge debate over a DJ?

[/endrand] Now can we please get back to discussing Howl-o-Scream? If you want, create a DJ thread to go right up there with the "Nurse Appreciation Thread." But stop you complaining here. I'm done now. Sorry to be the evil guy here....

I don't know about anyone else, but I was NOT complaining about a DJ. I was having some fun, in a thread that is admittedly way off-topic. But I think the music discussion is legitimate, as it goes to theming and atmosphere.

And if I have to choose between this and more negativity, I'll take this.

Funny, I thought a fan site was a place to discuss something you actually like, and, you know, are a fan of. :p

EDIT: This was directed at Pretzel's post. This thread is moving too fast for me!!

Don't worry, Nic. I wasn't talking about you. I feel like you're trying to help lighten up the situation. Sorry if you thought I was bagging on you!

Their's a haunted attraction in High Point, NC called "Spookywoods". They have a DJ that spins pop tunes that all of the teens/kiddies seem to like it. I personally hated it because it just didn't seem to belong there.

I totally agree that it would be appropriate for the Demon Street DJ to play some hardcore metal music. However, I've seen a LIVE DJ do that; just some pop and/or techno dance stuff.

If they do happen to play some metal/hard rock music (god I pray they do), please play some Avenged Sevenfold.

Yes so as for DJ it is a DJ. What is everyone thinking of for the other 3 terror TORIES? I'm looking forward to seeing the PIRATES area, and really the vampires, to say the least, I can't wait to see all of HOS, but really interested in being scared, and sitting back people watching, nothing like seeing people run and scream

So this a not-so-subtle attempt to get is off heavy metal and back on HOS?

Nah Nic, just had a feeling that we forgot the other areas, so I like all kinds of music, but my fave is HOUSE. But yeah if the theming matches heavy metal do it, if its pop do it. I would love to hear the QUEEN OF THE DAMNED soundtrack in that area. I just don't want us all to be stuck in DEMON STREET DJ ZONE.

There are still lots more to anticipate I guess than what type of music there is gonna be played or hopefully played. Should give little bit of all genres in that case to not just be catered to one group of people.

Paris Is Burning. Sorry didn't want to just wonder what music there is, I m in it for everything, mostly the scares, and for some fun I ve always had to work when HOS was up except a few times back in 2009 I believe. So guess I will be quiet.

No! Don't be quiet!

To be honest, my biggest fear for "Paris" is that the DJ will go with typical "Halloween" music. Thriller, the Monster Mash, Ghostbusters. That kind of stuff. I know I am probably a minority, but would much rather hear music that sounds evil and creepy, than poppy dance tunes that have lyrics with a Halloween theme

As for HOS in general, I am really excited about everything except Root. I think the Terror-tories could be amazing. I am especially stoked about Ripper Row and the Pirates.

I love Victorian England. I think they could do some amazing things there. I recall a Victorian area at HOS before that was awesome. That era in London was known for its "pea soup" smog. Gas lights with heavy fog in deserted streets in the poor Whitechapel district should make for incredibly creepy atmosphere. Add kidnappings of "prostitutes" to that, and everyone should be freaked out. I think if it is done right, Ripper Row could be fabulous.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

So all guests are now "prostitutes"? Interesting connection. I can see that :p

But I think we can chill about the DJ thing now, we already know that we either don't want the DJ or we will settle for the DJ and if we must settle for the DJ we already know we will either hate the music or they will play "our" version of good Devil music.

So, moving onward please?

Yes Nic, when I originally clued things together before putting out my Ripper Row report, I did research behind Jack the Ripper, which mentioned prostitutes and various items missing from their bodies, but I was just making the connection that if these plants were to be dressed as regular guests, that would mean regular guests consist of prostitutes, and honestly by the way some of them dress, you'd think they were.
