Cody, I'm gonna kidnap and carry you off Friday the 13th. Be prepared. There is a secret locker where they hide all of the bacon in the back alleys of England.

I think I said this before

OK, so I can envision it.

Those same people who attack you with cameras when you enter the park could instead accost you with a pile of forms and legal documents. They can use the same take-no-prisoners approach they take to the photos:

"If you just sign these 20 forms, you can have a fully-immersive, interactive HOS experience this evening! We will let you participate in our all-new Jack the Ripper Terror-tory! Don't just watch the action, become part of it! You will be snatched with no warning, right in front of your friends and family. Please scream as realistically, as possible. Here is a pen."

My take on the Demon DJ thing is simply, why do you think it is going to be pop? why do you think it is going to be tween based music? Why do you think the music won't be classic rock n' roll for example? I understand we all have our different tastes in music, in fact I have a very large array of interested genres and I prefer a lot. I don't try to exclude one genre unless it really doesn't settle with me. I think that if they play the right music, it won't necessarily be targeted to tweens.

With the Jack the Ripper thing, I fully love the idea of asking guests to be the victims. It would totally fit in well. But I am sure the legal department doesn't want to touch that with a 50 foot pole. So I hope that the victims or at least most/some of the victims are in street clothes. It adds to that sense of fear that you might be next.

Also can we step away from the stereotypes?

DJ =/= Tweens
Alcohol =/= Drunk Idiots

Yes sometimes they do = each other, but only sometimes, not always!

I want to be clear, in case anyone thinks that I meant that everyone who drinks will get drunk and become annoying. That is absolutely NOT what I meant.

As I said before, it only takes a few idiots to ruin an event. I say that as someone who did event planning for some of my volunteer work. Most people are perfectly responsible with alcohol. I, myself, haven't been stupid drunk since my 20s (Foxfield was fun though...). That said, given the number of people who attend HOS, the probability is high that there will be a few people who think that it is hilarious to get "totally wasted."

Because demonic death metal needs a DJ to drop those fly beats yo.

That being said, metal is the only way they could make this work at all, but that would be too cool for the park to do.

I would so cosplay Danzig!

Would face painting do instead?

Can I wear a costume to Howl-O-Scream?
No. For the safety of our guests and performers, we do not allow costumes in the park any time of the year, but especially not during Howl-O-Scream®. Guests can visit one of our face-painting booths to get transformed into a favorite Halloween character.

I have long hair that is shave around the sides, I could pull it forward into the point that Danzig wore, then bring in some black makeup and do it myself.

I painted my kids faces last year during regular season and they said nothing.

Radio DJ or club/party DJ? I ask because I've /never/ seen a DJ play metal/goth/ ext.

I even asked a friend who organizes metal bands locally about how will a DJ would work and the response was, "There are people who might dj sets of any of those (and related genres) at "dance night" type events themed to a particular genre, or between bands at a live performance, but extremely rarely as a part of the performance itself.

Noise might be the exception though, because guys like Emil Beirealieu (sp?) use modified turntables and records in live performance, but as an instrument in itself, making non-traditional noise, not in the same sense 99% of DJs would (scratching, remixing, etc.)"

I asked: "Are DJs used at all for those(metal/goth) genres? Like on a stage and everything? I thought that was more of a dance/rap thing."

"If and when they are is dismissed and laughed at by the Majority of the people within those scenes. And rightfully so."

I see two options here. The park is going to play music that will have nothing to do with demons or hell. Or the park is going to play music that deals with hell, in an ubsurd fashion (Club Remix of Ozzy, anyone?). Either way, it's going to be dumb.

Assuming this was directed at me...

I was a college radio DJ. I was also kidding. Obviously it is NOT the same thing. I pretty much got to play whatever felt like, as long as I pulled a certain number of songs from the bins. I rather doubt anyone was listening, anyway. The bin requirements kinda made my show a bit strange:

Dead Milkmen
Pet Shop Boys
Ministry
Random Meat Puppets
Misfits
Joy Division
Erasure
Even More Random Nirvana
Etc

Your friend has never heard of Slipknot I take it. quite honestly a DJ will play what he is paid to play. I have DJ'd and been a successful local metal vocalist. As a DJ I did parties that wanted just metal, or just country. I have seen metal bands with DJ's that were great.
