RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

To be fair my friend is mainly into the indie scene. I do remember them having a DJ though.

Edit: My friend regarding Slipknot, "Not legitimate. They're "metal," but they're clown music." His words.

I get that a DJ can be there to play music, but with the budget, a simple playlist over the existing system would do and then use the money to actually immersive with a
proper theme.

Yes love that CRY LITTLE SISTER, I believe the music is gonna be mix of everything, can't just please one genre group. There should be a theme with it like music such as THRILLER, DISTURBIA, and other song that could relate to HOS.

As far as RIPPER ROW, I m sure the actor will be in street clothes, but easily identified, and be cool if like the tours you could make a reservation, and play tricks on friends and have them kidnapped, be great way to make $$, and you could buy the pictures or video. I would so do it to scare my old coworker from BGT she would flip.

As with HOS and the bars, I do believe that some people will get out of hand drunk, but also on people serving them should be aware of noticing if they had too much, that's just another ugly lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm sure the specialty bar servers will be trained for that. I like how we all are concerned about this DJ so called street party thing, but what about the other sides of HOS, like Cut Throat Cove and so on. From what I can say is it looks pretty good coming along. Has anyone seen the BGW HOS commercial yet? I've seen KD s over n over, shouldn't BGW be getting it out there to others with only a week to go

Has this become a discussion of what qualifies at metal now? OMG! These be fightin' words. Well, my friend says they ARE METAL, whether or not clowns like 'em.

BTW, I was a college DJ as well. "The Chicken Show" was number 1 on the college circuit in southwest VA four years in a row. Oh yeah!

My thought regarding all of this:

Yes, a DJ doesn't have to play poppy dance stuff... but if it really is going to be harder music to set a true mood, why spring for a DJ when the park could just pre-record a playlist for seamless aural theming?

So now I am REALLY reaching: A DJ could adapt to the audience better?

I guess I was posing that more rhetorically - to me, it just seems like it could be another place where money doesn't necessarily have to be spent. Then again, just recording a playlist could get them in trouble with ASCAP.

:D

Forget all of this. It has already been suggested that we morph the Killarney Village Band into the ZOMBIE VILLAGE BAND. I know they would be into it.

Pirates are cooler than Zombies. They are also cooler than Ninjas, but that is a different discussion.

Let all go to Universal for Halloween instead! Harry Potter fabulousness! HOS problem solved.

I have a question. Why don't we here at BGW do the same thing as BGT HOS have a vote for what songs or ideas for HOS like they did for the pick the voodoo doll you would like to see in the new scare? Would that help them at BGW to get input to maybe help with the event? I think that would be nice to do, so that way fans had a say in helping an idea get into the HOS product. Don't know just thought that would help to if the gave all genres of music with several songs and you vote on it. Also could do that to bring maybe a new phobia for 13. Just a question and a thought

The snob in me thinks, "because asking for general input is how you end up with pop music crap and a DJ."

But that would be rude, so I would never say it.

Okay, I've tried to keep myself from getting sucked into this conversation, but it's really getting out of hand. Look through the later portion of this HOS thread, and what do you see? Pages upon pages of... what? A DJ. Seriously. I've gotta say, that's crazy. Seriously, such a huge debate over a DJ? I mean, I love the park as much as everyone else here, but really, is it worth writing page upon page of argument pertaining to a DJ being a good or bad thing for the park? A DJ... wow. Come on, people. If somebody stumbled onto this site out of nowhere, they'd laugh and think we're crazy for freaking out over a DJ. "But Joe, it's gonna ruin the entire event!" is what some may respond. No, it's not. It's a DJ. Even if it ruined both the event and the entire park, signifying a horrible misstep of the park's direction, is whining about it going to help? I'm not saying to tune it out altogether, but whining and complaining is not going to solve any problems here. Email Jim Atchison. Put up a big picket sign in front of the Festhaus that says "Festhaus is Unfair: Entwined is in There!". Spread the word. But really, is whining on a fan site going to help? The park already sees that we hate what they're doing. So stop. Just stop. Now. Please. Stop.

Just remember: you're busting keys into your keyboard and smashing holes in your walls over a DJ in an amusement park.

[/endrant] Now can we please get back to discussing Howl-o-Scream? If you want, create a DJ thread to go right up there with the "Nurse Appreciation Thread." But stop you complaining here. I'm done now. Sorry to be the evil guy here....

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

Joe: Your missing the point of a fan site. Scott probably things he's a genius for doing this, but I'm not happy about how my favorite events at the park is turning out and I will bitch about it until I'm banned.
