If the budget issues we've heard rumors or are that bad, then a half-assed Fear Fair is just the start.

So...just like last season then. :p
And if that's the case, they should've left up those red tattered rags for Bitten too.

^At least Bitten has a roof over its head to keep it from being destroyed by the weather. When you consider it has been there for 10+ years, it looks pretty good.

Oh man, don't you know how terrifying duct tape can be???? Duct tape everywhere!

It honestly would depend on what's been damaged. If it's the tents, you could do some patch work, and turn it from accidental dilapidated state, into a purposefully done dilapidated state.

Obviously, if things are falling apart that badly, they'll have to either A) not use it, or B) toss the item, as it could be a safety hazard.

Circuses can be pretty creepy when they are clean, shiny and new. But, it just may work to their advantage to have some damaged props, they could just distress other objects and make it look more like an abandoned circus.

But, who knows. They'll probably try to do that and mess it up royally.

Oops don't mind me, just trying to shed some positive light on the situation.

Where was Bitten at in 2006? Deadtime Stories was there.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Actually, like Apple said, if things are broken, they can use that to their advantage. Also didn't someone say they went through Fear Fair and store a large portion of the props? If so, I can't imagine too much being damaged. I would think it would be just like another year of getting things ready. It is interesting because Entertainment sold a few of Fear Fair's props and signs away. One of my friends managed to get their hands on one of the signs.

I am happy Fear Fair is coming back, hopefully the actors are better this year than previously. It also means more money can flow to other much more needed areas for Howl-o-Scream. Fear Fair definitely wouldn't be my top priority for the event, just saying.

So basically, right now, this year's Howl-O-Scream is looking like last year's event with a rehabbed Fear Fair and a refreshed Root of All Evil. If the budget is right, I'm thinking we could see a refreshed Catacombs as well. Regardless, this year sounds extremely (and almost disappointingly) iterative.

I don't mind a Catacombs refresh. That maze gets refreshed almost every year, to the point it works for the maze. The Caatacombs themselves seem to always be an ever changing maze :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Why don't they drop Root, considering they have to take time AND MONEY to keep those plants alive. Root is seriously the weakest link. I can't think of one person who liked it. I don't even think the GP liked it. It's the EitA of Howl-o-Scream.

I'd much rather suffer from one house less, if we could use that part of the budget to help renovate the other, more decent, houses.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

It sounds like they're going to pull an Entwined v. 3 with Root and try to reinvent it for 2013. My hopes aren't exactly very high though.

Scott just needs to learn to cut your losses and move on :p But seriously, if they reinvent it with a whole new look, it could work out really well. I guess Root is taking the most of the budget again this year.

What's the majority of the Howl-O-Scream budget for this year? A $50 bill Scott found in a pile of papers on his desk? A $75 Target gift card someone in the department got for Christmas last year? :p

But why??????

There is no saving that house. Just cut your losses and save the money for things people care about. Entwined at least had a chance at possibly being better, Root does not.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

I doubt it, hordes were a complete failure at the park and were not scary in execution. They should stick with scare zones.

...if they can afford them.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

If they do renovate RoaE, they better make the path more noticable. If you went in that maze and saw a guy just circling the pond a bunch of times, that was me. :p

I'm confused by this statement. Are you trying to say: They are pulling Entwined, and using the extra money to re-do ROAE? If that was the case I'd be very happy, or were you trying to say something else. Sorry I just don't understand what you're trying to say.

That path was annoying a lot of times the scarer would have to tell you where to go.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

^^
Now that's a thought...
Take the entire cast of characters from Entwined and stick them in the green house for Howl-O-Scream. Sounds frightening to me. :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

No, they're gonna rework the maze like they did with Entwined. Not sure if the park is willing to scrap Entwined yet.

ROAE was such a weak maze last year, here's to hoping the park does things right this time.
