Re: Howl-O-Scream 2013

I think it's time to drop Europe in the Air as a house location. I simply don't think the location provides the flexibility required to make a fantastic house.

Has a haunted casino ever been done at BGW? They had the vampire casino at the tampa one last year.

And then maybe EITA can be open during this time? Yeah!

Sticking with the general nature of HOS...I'd rather have my intestines pulled out by a zombie.:D

Vampire Casino 2 years ago in Tampa was good. Last year it was Vampire Casino: Condemned and you had a flashlight to go through it. But it was much worse.

Best houses down there that could be pulled off here:
Circus of Superstition
Zombie Mortuary
Blood Asylum

What makes you say that? I think personally, if they worked hard on a new house they could provide a really fantastic house, or if they brought back Cavern of Darkness, that would be a really good house. I honestly think they can do it, they just need to be motivated and inspired.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

I knew someone would bring up Caverns of Darkness. It was a solid house for its time. In 2011, the park pushed the expectations for Howl-O-Scream houses far beyond anything they had ever done in the past. For a time when we had Bitten, Hunted, Cursed, etc. Caverns of Darkness was right up there with the best of them. If you put a house that's basically just a dark hallway in for 2013, it'd be ripped to shreads- not because it's nessisarily bad, but because it will be compared to the likes of Deadline and Fear Fair.

I'm not convinced that the park should give up on that location, but it is certianly not that flexable as Pompeii. I know the park is able to put a good house in that location, they just need one good theme as opposed to 13 different themes.

Edit: Cavern of Darkness was still way better than 13.

You know what is a flexible location? Drachen Fire's maintenance building. Seems like a much better location than EitA.

A very good idea, but my only issue would be if the resort idea comes to fruition or (my wildest dream comes true!:)) they reuse the area for a coaster they would only get a couple year of use out of the building and the house idea due to construction. Would that be worth the financial investment?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Right now they are using the building for storage, from what I'm told. Honestly, I think the building is way off. I hate the idea of having multiple house side by side because then you are more or so forced to stand in a long line to go through both houses, the first house probably having stacking issues. I honestly think if their going to use both of the buildings in FHP, make it one big house and not separate, and really work on clearing the stacking. Still though, I think that will be one of the few locations that they can just ignore. Is there a location with plenty of clear space that is not being used and is close to park pathways? It doesn't have to even be a ton of space, look at Catacombs. Squeezed into such a small space but still really well executed maze.

I think the park really needs to start think outside the box for new house location ideas. I mean, I'm starting to think they may need to stray from the traditional requirements for a house. Actually, I saw they turned the Trading Post store into heated seating. The whole store was clear and it honestly looked like you could fit in a maze. There is so much they could do, if they thought outside the box and really put effort into it.
