I am rarely at a loss for words, nor am I extremely negative about anything the park does, but Demon Street... Those banners have me floored. The fringe that they have on the eaves is leaps and bounds better than the flames stretching across the thoroughfares. Replace the flames with those black shards and I'll be happy. It add’s a “ceiling of theme” while still not ruining the area.

Vampire Point – I understand their direction, I really do – I’m sure their scenic painters will make the building look phenomenal. I’m not completely mentally distraught over the paint job, however I am intrigued by the fact that the top panel including the actually clock has not been painted. I’m fairly certain they’re just waiting to paint it on Monday however I wonder if they are having second thoughts due to the intricacies of the clock and surrounding scenic frame. Last point with the ReVamp, while we are all on the subject of the actual clockwork and figures, I feel like this could be a fantastic time to refurb the inner workings. They’re currently trying to construct a gothic Romanian/Transylvanian fortress there. Put a wall in front of the figure relief and paint it. Leave the figure area untouched and rehab it during the next two months. I just wish they would see this opportunity and plan for posterity not just the event at hand.

Ports of Skull looks nice…too nice. Pirates were the nastiest, slimiest, and overall most disgusting people to live this earth. Make it look ugly, make it look ill-constructed and rickety. I do like the gallows though – this could really be a great interactive prop-based experience.

Ripper Row looks promising. I may be biased – the story just intrigues me so much – I mean its truly one of the world’s only true monster stories. He ruled by fear. With the right lighting this will all look phenomenal (the lighting team is top notch so I have no fear here - also the blue light testing the other night has me excited for the facades - afterall, he was seen as a "back alley dweller") – still holding out for roofs though – look a bit odd now. One last thing – where are the Wicked Woods facades? For the love of God they were and are impeccable! Are they in Cutthroat?

All in all I see the opportunities – but seriously burn those banners. Like for the glory of Satan burn those banners.

What the heck.... Demon Street looks like a child's Party looks cheap But England looks good so far.... Kinda.....

The thing i would do is france is Have like a dark fog though out the whole area the aroma of smoke and glows of fire with lights. Atleast my idea would look better than a kids birthday party OH and the Scare Actors would have on melted skin running around frantically sreaming and asking for help

So since I watched the Pass member preview video, and have finally seen what they've shown for HoS.

First off, I completely and unironically love ALL of their costumes. EXCEPT, the Demon DJ. When I saw him, the mask was gave me the "Whoa amazing" feeling, everything else was so poorly put together, it made the costumer in me cry. And let me just say, those pants that he's wearing, hide nothing. Even on camera. I was having flashbacks to The Labyrinth with David Bowie.

Count Vlad, I don't know how to take him. But the two "Guests" who came up on stage looking for vampires, made me feel like I was watching a cheap ripoff of Hotel Transylvania.

The Creature and Ulrich made that entire preview. They needed to present the event. It would have been much better.

Now on to the pictures shown within the thread. Ripper Row seems like Holiday Hills in the respect that I'm sure it'll look much better at night. But during the day it looks terrible.

Demon Street is atrocious. There is no other words to describe it.

Vampire Point is alright. I can live with the building being painted grey and the removal of the clock pieces. (As painful as it is to look at.) As long as they don't paint EVERYTHING in Rhinefield. I'm hoping since they aren't done with it, it'll look better.

The Pirates... It looks nice, but it's not scary looking? I have to agree with Skyrider, it's too clean for pirates.

The parts that haven't changed look great, naturally.

I may be one of the few who are still clinging to the thin shreds of hope for this event. But, a lot is riding on the actors, and in the past it's been hit or miss on whether or not the Scare Actors are putting the effort into it.

^^ The prostitute's gown. That's quality right there. Her accent also seemed really good too. I've heard fake Whitechapel accents before - but that was really good. I also like how she was really in your face. Hope that translates to the event. I mean they are prostitutes afterall.

I don't know what the hell they were thinking with France. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the flaming racing flags. Did they get those from the Dollar Tree? That along with the DJ .. uuugggg.
I agree alot with Skyrider said about the other Terror-tories. The Ports of Skulls Terror-tory was the best decorated that I saw today. I'm looking forward to it the most. I took some pics that I will try to get on here tomorrow.

Demon Street (Not to be mistaken for an 8 year-old's Hot Wheels-themed birthday party.)

That is exactly what we thought when we walked through it yesterday. I kept saying I hope they step it up at night but I won't hold my breath. My husband said to be patient. It was last year or year before when they were still "fixing" things for HOS well into late September. I'm also disappointed to see the bridge over the flume isn't decorated this year. and where the heck is the troll at the bridge near Pompeii. Let's hope this year is good. But I have to admit I'm already nervous it won't be.

So after looking at all of the sort of unpromising Terror-tories, I figured I'd go ahead and give each of them a more appropriate name based on how they're being carried out.

Vampire Point = Vampire Paint (Job)
Port of Skull = Port of Perfection That's all I could think of...
Ripper Row = Ripper Row: The Musical!
Demon Street = Speed Demon Street

Welcome to Howl-O-Scream of 2013!

What kind of scares will they have in "Demon Street"? Little kids everywhere throwing a tantrum because they didn't get the hotwheels car they wanted? That is pretty scary! :s

That's the thing about Demon Street being a "F You" from Scott. He'll evoke doom and misery to the park's guests, but not in a way that Halloween is supposed to be. That and the tween music.

What happened to the grim reaper (I believe that's who it is) that they they usually have in the fountain at the main entrance?

OK, so I haven't been to the park since August, but I'm still a bit confused by some of this conversation. HOS isn't until next week, so clearly the park isn't finished setting up. How can we know what it will look like next Friday?

Can't everyone hold off with the dismissive and critical comments, until they have seen the finished product?
