RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

It is sad that in the, "Is HOS suitable for kids?" question the first sentence is Maybe Not. Just say NO, unless you want to annoy other HOS visitors!

Why say no? We just had a huge discussion about this. Some kids can handle and enjoy HOS, others can't. It is up for the parents to know what their kid can handle.

This is my fault. I should never have re-opened this can of worms all over that poor dead horse. Mea culpa.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

I think it's a poor choice of words that they say, "But at the stroke of 6 p.m., the ghouls and haunts come out to play..." That just sounds like they're trying to fool parents into thinking it's a silly little meet-and-great with some spooks to play with their kids. Even with the "...and Busch Gardens becomes a seriously scary place" disclaimer, I don't think parents will take the hint until "Little Bil--er, Little Timmy" (;)) won't stop screaming after they thought "Root of all Evil" would just be an educational wheat-farming tour. Just sayin'.

EDIT: Didn't see Nic's post above mine. Sorry to keep beating that horse!

Very true should be parents discretion to the event, however I dislike seeing parents trying to force it on the children like they would do at BGT. If you know LIL sallytimmymarkmary can't handle it bring the sitter along get a sitter make plans bring grandpa or grandma and take kids home to them and return. The most annoying thing is watching some parents force them to go get scared thru the houses, then blow up park blogs FB twitter with bad results of their kids freaking out and blaming the park that its their fault their child was scared, but yet they are steadily dragging them by their coat sleeve thru the event screaming in fear. I must add though don't leave the kids behind do the family thing and have fun, but if LIL ole tommy mark like is scared don't stand out front of the haunted house and yell at them calling them "sissy" the website and pages mention may not be suitable for children use discretion, but from working at parks and being a guest once people come thru the entrance they forget all like hearing, reading, and other skills but that's just what I ve seen sometimes

What is a Terror-tory?
Terror-tories™ are a completely new concept for Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream®. Four sections of our park, England, Germany, Italy and France, have been transformed in to haunted villages. These highly immersive attractions include dramatic theming and scare squad actors behind every corner. You won’t have to wait in line to go through these Terror-tories because they are a part of the park itself, including themed shopping and dining experiences in each section. The four Terror-tories ready to scare you are:
-Ripper Row® in England
-Vampire Point™ in Germany
-Demon Street™ in France
-Ports of Skull™ in Italy

I like the idea, but it sounds overly ambitious for the team currently in place.

Ok so I've seen that Demon Street says PARIS IS BURNING so I'm guessing maybe the DJ will be playing some house music, and we will have vogueing demons and minions like the documentary PARIS IS BURNING which is all good I will join in I may break a hip now I'm old, but just ready to have fun and no this doesn't mean I'm against that lifestyle being a gay male, and park lover trying to throw a LIL KIKI in there, but in any case I m sure some people may read into that terror Tory description a bit much and say in either way that its gonna be a free for all and the park is maybe suggesting now that its a hell devil worship type area, and it's in bad taste, but they said that about THE HOUSE OF VAYNE we had in BGT that we were saying only skinny pretty, fashionable people are trendy. I know I'm rambling but I'm just pointing out today people read into too much it's like ms mess Miley's performance, she knew what she was doing and now she is in the know, so guessing bad publicity is good publicity and I new way to market your stuff. So who all is ready for an opening night BGW TWERK SESSION on demon street and really make PARIS BURN just kidding

My mind went there initially, too. I saw it in a film class many, many moons ago. It would certainly be... interesting, to say the least.

How did I miss this? This film looks exactly like what I was watching at the time.

If that's the case, they will probably play Madonna's "Vogue" on rotation.

One thing that bothers me about the whole "my kid isn't scared" thing from parents is that most of the scareactors don't scare them. They are too scared to be threatened by the parents. I hope this year they step up and scare the crap out of EVERYBODY regardless of age.

They sort of did that last year. They scared everybody, but not all the same. They would scared adults and teenagers really good, but with kids they didn't fully scare on an adult level, just enought to teacher the parents a lesson. :p

I would think that this was footage from last year since it's the last weekend of September. Did the Travel Channel come to HOS last year?
