It really sounds great...like there's a lot going on and people are having fun. It just sucks that Busch Gardens would open so soft.

The detectives around here need to find out whether all of this stuff was originally in the plan and they didn't have time to get it ready...or if the original plan was just crappy and so they had to add a bunch of stuff to boost it up.

Two words could have saved a lot of negative press: "Preview Weekend"

Someone brought this up in chat and I agree 100%. They wouldn't have even had to open Root.

Deadline, catacombs, fear fair, root

I actually disagree. I can't speak for this week (yet) but last weekend Bitten wasn't a house to be skipped. Bitten's staff was, overall, performing better than the collective staff in any of the other houses. Here's my recommend order of attack:

1. Get to Deadline at about 5:15 and wait for the 5:30 opening.
2. Upon getting out of Deadline, book it to Thirteen and knock it out. There's a good chance you can get 1 and 2 done before 6pm.
3. Directly after Thirteen hit Catacombs. Its line shouldn't be too bad just yet but you'll probably wait a bit.
4. From Catacombs, hit Bitten. Yes, you'll probably have a bit of a wait here but it's performing well this year. Don't bother if the line looks too bad though (assuming you've been though it in previous years).
5. Wait for it to get dark if it isn't already (catch a show, eat dinner, ride Vbolt, etc.)
6. Make your way over to Fear Fair. I have yet to see a line at Fear Fair this year so it shouldn't be too bad of a wait.
7. Hop on a train at Fiesta Station, ride to New France, and get in line for Root of All Evil a little before the park closes. No matter how long the line is, they should let anyone in line through. Just don't cut it too short.

Ok. Thanks, I will try to do that. Also, is anyone going to upload pics of howl-o-scream last night? Just want to know.

They are NOT full scare zones though. Only about 5 scare actors will make up a permanent scare area.

I counted six. If they made that big of a change in one weekend then what says more will not be elsewhere or more performers will not be added? Nothing.

I really wish they just waited one more weekend.

So all the issues of last weekend could happen this weekend? I would rather it not have. I enjoy my visits too much.

This sounds like a great game plan....going to try and follow it today and hope to get everything in.

Had to reply AWA giving the thumbs up/thanks -- this is SO so true. Just make it clear that this is something of a dress rehearsal, and guests will both be prepared with lesser/appropriate levels of expectation AND be more forgiving of things that don't seem up to par after they get inside the park.

If you don't call it a Preview, guests have every reason to expect the full experience right from the moment the gates open on the very first day. Some folks who may only be able to make it to HOS once might have planned to go early on to avoid crowds, only to get a much less immersive experience.

Call it Preview and folks will know what to expect and not be disappointed.

I mean, imagine if a new Hollywood film opened up, but half of the effects shots weren't finished, they hadn't redubbed the audio where it needed it, and there was a temporary score. I think people would rightly be unhappy with what they got.

If, however, they called it a rough-cut sneak preview...it might get rave reviews.

I'm going with the latter.

Those are awesome pictures. The park looks so much more different than last week.
