RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Rumor has it that Dig It Up is back on the roster.

So...
Monster Stomp: Gone
Fiends: Moved to the Abbey Stone
Jack is Back: Moved to Das Festhaus
Dig It Up: Planned for Italy

Never heard of the Dad Festhaus, is it something they are planning to build? :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I think a show being in the Globe would be a good move for HOS. Another Show thought is could we see a return of "Rockin Hallows Eve" (I am not exactly sure if that was the name) in RPT and Catacombs/or a new maze being moved to the Le Scot area. But keeping Bitten not so much. I have a feeling that since Fear Fair has not been removed it will likely be returning next year with maybe minor changes.

Sorry for double posting but here is Busch's conformation that MSR will not be returning.

The park went with a edgier event last year, seems like they are giving into the family friendly way with these changes.

Agreed. We have seen the park go toward a more Family Friendly direction this year and I don't see any reason they would reverse course when Howl-O Scream Comes

Father's Dad is coming up in June?:D

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Sorry, I remembered too late that it was demolished.

On that note, I think it's really bad of Busch Gardens to delete the comments on Monster Stomp and then post on their blog that it won't be returning. There were so many people commenting that Monster Stomp is one of the main reasons they go during the Fall and that they won't be renewing their passes now. I somewhat agree, Monster Stomp was really great the first couple of years after being revamped, and then last year went downhill fast. I think that if they had kept it up to par last year, they wouldn't have to bring it back better than ever in 2014. It wasn't a coincidence that the lines would reach to the Pet Shenanigans stage every weekend (and even last year). I think they should listen more to their fans! Hopefully Fiends will "replace" it well, but I, along as many other people got attached to Monster Stomp and would look forward to it every year. It's a shame!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

As much as it will be missed, Monster Stop was 10 years old. It really does need to be replaced since it's been going downhill in quality for a few years.

That being said, I still don't like the way the park is treating the shows this year.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I'm not upset because of the show downgrade (if anything, Jack would be getting an upgrade), but they're moving the shows to try to appease those who claim to have the moral high ground.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Although I understand why the public is upset, I thought it was time for MSR to go. Even though it was still the best HOS show they had, it was just getting redundant for me. I hope if they do plan to bring it back in 2014, that they spend some serious development time on creating a new show. The same "Stomp" style, but new songs, new staging, etc.

Also, knowing how things have been marketed in the past, the two "new" shows might not both be new. I'd bet that they would consider the revamps of Jack and Fiends in their new venues "new" shows.

There are undoubtedly some bad decisions being made in Entertainment, but there has been some good stuff. Celtic Fyre is a well-executed production that addressed the problem of guests who just don't like straight Irish dancing. The themeing improvements in last year's HOS were nice to see. And although execution isn't great, Illuminights was a great concept. It accomplished its goal of guest retention later in the day, and I think the fireworks are great.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I don't mind the cartoon character look because to me, Jack has /always/ been something for the kids.

Also, I would like to say that putting Fiends in the Abby stone "for the children" is like putting Grease in the porn section of a video store (if anybody remembers them). I hate Virginians....

Jack is for kids, but he use to be pretty cool looking, now he just looks kindve rediculous to me

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

^ but not as bad as he does now. They will have to change the show to fit the section it is in. He always talked about Kilarney before.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I just wonder are they now going to give him a german accent? Obviously that would be dumb because, Jack is an Irish legend after all.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

My guess is that the show will be completely revamped. I would think the only reason they are keep the Jack is Back concept is to preserve the "tradition" of Jack (and to save a little time and money on costumes;) )

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I think the only logical thing to do is bring back the ORIGINAL Monster Stomp, and keep everything where it should be/has been. :)

(Of course I'm kidding, but Revamped did nothing for me like the original MS did.)

Perhaps they will have to change his name to Hans
