So why wouldn't it make sense to make the smaller event free and the larger event pay?

Because you are already getting the larger event for free. There is no scenario where this doesn't "take away" something that passholders have been getting.

BTW, that survey doesn't necessarily mean they thinking of an "either/or." They may just as plausibly consider making CT free as well as HOS.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Depending on the details of it, people could be getting some stuff for HoS. This could mean a big improvement for HoS.

My prediction is that there is zero chance of this happening. This isn't Tampa.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Busch Gardens NEEDS the standard HoS admission that they utilize right now. A separate ticketed event as nice as it sounds is not going to happen. There is no "true" competition. Look at the attendance numbers, they speak for themselves. The attendance is much higher than last year (according to a manager I spoke with around England). I highly doubt that they would jeopardize that. Now an after house separate ticketed event one night a weekend would be feasible.

This is not Orlando. Tampa has to use the ticketed event because of competition. They can go all out because of the Not So Scary H-ween Party in Disney.

I'm almost positive I'll happen. Probably not in 2012, but it'll happen- it's only a matter of time.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

To me, it would be awesome if they did this. Tampa does a few pass member free weekends for their HoS, if they did this pass members wouldn't have a whole lot to complain about, and I am sure it would make them alot more money, as well as making the event better.

Several passholders visit several weekends throughout HoS. Some of those more than once a weekend. They would lose passholders. I highly doubt you will see the current format see any significant change. There is always a chance but I feel in this case it is a very slight one.

I am not saying it wouldnt suck for people who do go every week, but if they could take the event from a some-what scary event to a very scary event I am all for it. If the event stays some-what scary and they do nothing about it, I would prefer it to be a family event with no scares at all.

I find this subject comical.

This more than likely is nothing more than an idea that was thrown on the table and a survey was sent out to gauge interest. Your average passholder could careless if it was any scarier, they just want to be able to visit and enjoy themselves.

Moderately scary and being able to visit every weekend > Very scary and paying more

Well then, I apologize for posting an opinion.

Notice I said the subject and not your opinion. Parks do surveys such as this periodically. The subject of them most of the time never see fruition.

Don't worry Michael, I'm with you. Really, I see it as only a matter of time before it happens.

I know 13 is going, and Deadline is staying, but the rest im not so sure about.
I would like to see Fear Fair stay, its an average house in my opinion, and fits the Festa themeing pretty well.

Well, since this is rumors, I heard one that BG may be bringing the haunted train back... I think that is a good classic to bring back
