RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Still don't have any show times up yet... I'm hoping some of those HOS shows start earlier in the day... Probably too much to ask for.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Anyone ready for some new info, when you thought it was all released . . .

In addition too the Italy and France glow stands, a new one will be located by Open Casket! Yes, amazing news!

Speaking of Open Casket, I got a better detailed description of it. They will have see through coffins as tables and you can see a vampire laying inside your table as you enjoy your refreshment, or you can sit at the bar side and order from a vampire, or you can stand in line and grab your drink out of a coffin. There will be at least four serving stations and the vampires serving you will be in full costume with fangs and they will have real, yes, real Transylvanian accents.

That is all the info . . . for now ;)

EDIT: Open Casket is more of an experience than a stand. I expect great things from it.

I've yet to hear a real accent at BGW other than foreign guests.

Sadly, I understand that. However, I am putting some faith into Open Casket and a few other things this year. They way it was described made it seem like they are really trying to make Open Casket more of an attraction rather than a snack stand.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

So, anyone want to hear some Root of All Evil info?

You will enter the queue in Rhinefeld by the radio booth, the queue will go all the way down to the Entertainment warehouse, where a snack stand will be set up for you to purchase drinks and snacks while waiting in line. While you are waiting in line, be sure to check out the special QR codes in each attractions queue for insider bits. There will even be a QR code that will update your status on Facebook/Twitter saying, "I'm going through XXXXXXX, check me out" with a link taking your friends to a live video feed of the maze. While inside Root of All Evil, don't forget to smile. There will be a hidden camera ready to take your picture as you get scared, the photo will be available for purchase at the exit fo the maze, which is right next to the Festhaus by the smoking area in Oktoberfest.

I have a feeling this will be the best HOS yet . . .

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Oh wow! That sounds like so much fun. I bet the pictures will be so hilarious. My hand will be over my mouth (something I do when I get scared) in probably every picture or wide open from screaming. My hubby will be laughing in every picture. :D :D

All I can say is may God be with the maze tech.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

A thought just popped up into my head.

They are doing the roaming hordes this year, instead of scare zones. So it's safe to say they are going to be walking around in a giant circle all night.

Would this mean that Festa Italia, is probably one of the safest places in the park, next to England? (Not taking into account the mazes.) Festa is a dead end, there would be no point in heading that way only to turn around and head out the way they came in.

And to be perfectly honest, I'm not sold on the idea of the hordes. If what I remember you guys said correctly, there will be two groups of 15-25 people? I don't see this idea working just because of crowd levels.

I'm one of those stupid people, who go to HoS on Saturdays, and more often than not, I come to a complete stand still, just because the traffic is just too heavy on both ends to get moving. The hordes would add to the crowd level. So if one group gets stuck... Unless they'll take Employee routes to try to avoid some of the completely stopped traffic.

I dunno, just stuff I've been thinking about.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

So does anybody want to hear some fun facts about the hordes?

There will be two of them, with 20 - 35 scare actors. They will start in Germany one group will go into New France and around the park that way, another will go towards Oktoberfest and around that way. Each horde will be on schedule to reach England at closing time. At closing time both hordes will be in England for you to take pictures with, meet and greet, and what not. Which will mean about 50 scare actors just standing there in England. And don't worry Applesauce, the hordes aren't the only things that go boo in the night ;)

I find that hard to believe. I love how they use QR codes but have it so you can barely get a good enough signal to use them.

Well then I think it will be the best yet, should everything work right and go well. *Fingers Crossed*

False.

Just because it is a dead end for guests does not mean it is for employees. All the horde has to do is take the service road by Roman Rapids and come back on the path somewhere down the road. That service road could even take them all the way to the back of Pompeii which would be awesome cause then you'd never have an idea where they would be.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I remember back when HOS was fairly new (early '00s), you could go to the park and actually enjoy it.

The last time I went (3-4 years ago?) the park was so crowded that you couldn't ride anything without waiting in a 1-2 hour line, and the haunted houses had lines from 45 min-2.5 hours, then once you were in - you were basically waiting in line through the haunted house because it was so crowded.

My question: Does anyone know if the park gets to capacity during the first few weekends? Like if I go on the 15th or 22nd of September will it be tolerable? I can't hang when BG gets that crowded.
